Job Summary

The Food Square Restaurant is seeking a professional, customer-focused, and experienced Restaurant Captain to supervise daily restaurant operations, lead the service team, and ensure an exceptional dining experience for all guests. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of restaurant service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of waiters, waitresses, and other front-of-house staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Welcome guests warmly, manage table assignments, and ensure prompt and attentive service throughout their dining experience.
• Take customer orders accurately and ensure food and beverages are served according to the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.
• Monitor staff performance, allocate duties, and ensure adherence to company policies, service procedures, and grooming standards.
• Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally, ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure timely order preparation and efficient food service.
• Monitor table setup, cleanliness, hygiene, and overall restaurant presentation before, during, and after service.
• Assist the Restaurant Manager in staff training, shift planning, service briefings, and daily operational activities.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and hygiene regulations.
• Monitor stock levels of service items and report shortages or operational issues to management.
• Support upselling initiatives by recommending menu items, promotions, and special offers to increase restaurant sales.
• Ensure accurate order processing, billing, and coordination with the cashier when required.
• Manage guest reservations, special occasions, and VIP requirements as needed.
• Prepare shift reports and communicate customer feedback, staff concerns, and operational updates to management.
• Ensure the restaurant maintains high standards of hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism at all times.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Restaurant Captain, Head Waiter, or in a similar restaurant supervisory role.
• Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Good knowledge of food and beverage service standards and restaurant operations.
• Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve service issues professionally.
• Familiarity with restaurant POS systems, order processing, and billing procedures.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced restaurant environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Good command of Arabic & English; additional languages are an advantage.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED5,500.00 per month
