Full job description
The Junior Quantity Surveyor supports the commercial team in cost control, measurement, and reporting across projects, ensuring budgets are monitored, variations are assessed, and financial data is accurate to support informed decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparation of cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecast.
- Take off quantities and prepare BOQs and cost comparisons.
- Support tender evaluations and commercial analysis of contractor submissions.
- Assist in valuation of works, variation orders, and change management.
- Monitor actual costs against budgets and report variances.
- Support preparation of monthly cost reports and progress valuations.
- Maintain commercial records, contracts data, and cost databases.
- Coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management.
- No professional certification required at entry level (RICS is a plus).
- 0–3 years of experience in a QS or cost control role.
- Basic knowledge of construction contracts and cost management principles.
- Proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with cost software is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, and organizational skills.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken.)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with developers or main contractors.
- Exposure to UAE construction projects and local market practices.
- Familiarity with FIDIC-based contracts.
- Basic knowledge of cost management or project control software.
