Job Summary:
The Store Keeper is responsible for managing inventory, ensuring the proper storage and issuance of materials, maintaining stock levels, and keeping records of all transactions. The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently to support the smooth operation of the store/warehouse.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, orders, and deliveries.
- Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Ensure that all goods are stored safely and properly labeled.
- Receiving & Issuing Goods:
- Receive and inspect incoming materials for quality and quantity.
- Verify supplier invoices and delivery notes against purchase orders.
- Issue materials to relevant departments as per requests and approvals.
- Storage & Organization:
- Arrange materials in an orderly and accessible manner.
- Implement proper storage techniques to prevent damage or spoilage.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain updated stock registers, issue slips, and goods received notes.
- Prepare reports on stock usage, shortages, and surplus.
- Keep track of expired or obsolete items and report accordingly.
- Coordination & Communication:
- Liaise with suppliers, procurement, and other departments to ensure a smooth supply chain.
- Provide support in forecasting stock requirements based on demand trends.
- Assist in stock audits and provide necessary documentation when required.
- Housekeeping & Safety Compliance:
- Maintain cleanliness and order in the store/warehouse.
- Follow safety procedures and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Report any hazards, damages, or malfunctions to management.
