Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to manage end-to-end payroll operations while supporting employee relations matters across the organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive payroll knowledge, a deep understanding of labor laws and statutory compliance, exceptional analytical skills, and advanced Microsoft Excel expertise.
This role requires a professional who can independently manage complex payroll processes, investigate payroll discrepancies, support employee relations cases, maintain confidentiality, and drive payroll process improvements through data analysis and automation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees.
- Handle payroll inputs including new hires, terminations, salary changes, overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, and final settlements.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws, company policies, and statutory requirements.
- Conduct payroll reconciliations, audits, and variance analysis.
- Serve as the main point of contact for payroll-related employee queries, grievances, and dispute resolution.
- Support employee relations matters, investigations, and policy interpretation.
- Generate payroll reports, dashboards, and workforce analytics for management.
- Identify process improvements and automate reporting using advanced Excel tools.
Requirements
- Minimum 8-10 years of payroll experience, including senior-level payroll responsibilities.
- Proven experience handling Employee Relations, grievance management, and employee queries.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, payroll accounting, and end-of-service/final settlement calculations.
- Expert-level MS Excel skills (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, Pivot Tables, Power Query, dashboards, advanced formulas, and large data analysis).
- Experience with payroll and HR systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday, SuccessFactors, ADP, or similar preferred).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and meet strict payroll deadlines.
Candidates must possess solid payroll expertise, strong employee relations experience, and a 10/10 level of Excel proficiency. Advanced Excel and payroll knowledge will be assessed during the interview process.
