Learning Support Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to provide full-time, one-to-one support for a secondary school student with complex and multiple needs. The successful candidate will work closely with the student, their family, and school staff to enable full participation in school life and maximise learning outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Provide personalised, one-to-one support throughout the full school day
• Assist with physical and mobility needs, including movement around the school
• Support the student's communication
• Adapt and differentiate learning materials to support learning difficulties
• Collaborate with teachers to implement individual education plans (IEPs) a
• Promote independence, confidence, and inclusion within the classroom and wider school community
• Maintain accurate records of progress and report to the parents
• Liaise with parents and external support professionals where appropriate

Essential requirements

• Experience supporting students with physical/mobility needs and/or complex needs
• Familiarity with speech and communication disabilities and relevant support strategies
• Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with young people
• Ability to work as part of a team while also taking initiative independently
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Desirable qualifications & experience

• Relevant qualification in Education, Special Education, or Child Development — CACHE, BTEC, or equivalent recognized by KHDA
• Experience in UAE
