Accountant

Job Description:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant with a strong background in the construction industry, preferably on the consultant side, to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing project-related financial activities, monitoring budgets, processing payments, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations and company procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting and financial transactions.
• Prepare and maintain financial records, ledgers, and reconciliations.
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Review and verify contractor invoices, consultant fees, and payment certificates.
• Monitor project budgets, expenditures, and cost reports.
• Assist in preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Coordinate with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients regarding financial matters.
• Maintain records of contracts, variations, and project-related financial documents.
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and statutory requirements.
• Assist in annual audits and financial reviews.
• Monitor cash flow and prepare payment schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience in the construction industry.
• Previous experience with engineering consultants, architectural consultants, or project management consultants is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in project accounting, cost control, and contract administration.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Experience working in UAE construction consultancy firms.
• Familiarity with project management and construction contract procedures.
