Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly experienced and competent Rigging Supervisor to oversee and manage all rigging and lifting operations for a structural steel erection project with ADNOC. The candidate will be responsible not only for supervising site activities but also for preparing lifting plans, documentation, and reports while ensuring full compliance with ADNOC HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lifting Plan Preparation:
Prepare detailed lifting plans for routine and critical lifts, including load calculations, crane selection, rigging configurations, and risk assessments in line with ADNOC standards.
- Planning & Supervision of Lifting Activities:
Review and implement lifting plans, method statements, and risk assessments. Supervise all rigging operations to ensure safe execution in line with project specifications.
- Team Leadership & Coordination:
Lead and manage a team of riggers, assigning tasks based on skill level and ensuring effective communication between rigging crew, crane operators, and site engineers.
- Verification of Rigging Equipment:
Ensure all rigging gear is properly inspected, certified, and suitable for the intended lifting operation. Enforce compliance with inspection and color-coding systems.
- Execution of Critical Lifts:
Supervise complex and heavy lifting operations, ensuring proper rigging techniques, load calculations, and adherence to approved lifting procedures.
- Coordination with Crane Operators & Engineers:
Work closely with crane operators, lifting supervisors, and project engineers to ensure smooth and safe lifting operations.
- Safety Compliance (HSE):
Enforce strict adherence to ADNOC HSE policies, permit-to-work (PTW) systems, and job safety analysis (JSA). Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings prior to lifting activities.
- Risk Assessment & Hazard Control:
Identify potential hazards in lifting operations and implement control measures. Stop work if unsafe conditions are identified.
- Monitoring, Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare and maintain lifting reports, daily activity reports, inspection records, and incident reports. Ensure all lifting documentation is properly recorded and submitted as per project requirements.
- Load Control & Site Safety:
Ensure proper use of taglines and safe load handling practices. Maintain exclusion zones and ensure no unauthorized personnel enter lifting areas.
- Training & Competency Development:
Mentor and guide rigging crew to improve skills and ensure competency in safe rigging practices.
- Emergency Preparedness:
Ensure team awareness of emergency procedures and take charge during lifting-related emergencies if required.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in rigging operations, with at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
- Proven experience in Oil & Gas / ADNOC or similar projects
- Valid Rigging Supervisor certification (Third Party / ADNOC approved preferred)
- Mandatory CP19 certification
- Strong experience in preparing lifting plans and reports
- Strong knowledge of load calculations, rigging techniques, and crane operations
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and lifting plans
- Excellent leadership, coordination, and communication skills
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations and safe work practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- ADNOC site approval or prior ADNOC project experience
- Basic computer skills (MS Office for reporting and documentation)
- Good command of English (spoken and written)
