Structural Steel Fitter

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Fitter to join our fabrication team. The Structural Fitter is responsible for laying out, fitting, and assembling structural steel components according to blueprints and technical drawings. This role plays a critical part in ensuring fabricated steel structures meet quality, dimensional, and safety standards before erection or shipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural drawings, blueprints, and shop sketches.
• Lay out reference lines and points on workpieces using measuring tools.
• Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components such as beams, columns, plates, and braces.
• Tack weld components in preparation for final welding.
• Use fabrication tools including grinders, torches, plasma cutters, and saws.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances to ensure accuracy.
• Inspect materials for defects and ensure compliance with project specifications.
• Collaborate with welders, supervisors, and quality control personnel.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Follow all company and OSHA safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of structural fitting or fabrication experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret structural and shop drawings.
• Strong understanding of structural steel fabrication processes.
• Experience with measuring tools such as tape measures, squares, calipers, and levels.
• Basic welding knowledge and ability to tack weld (certification preferred).
• Familiarity with fabrication shop equipment and tools.

Working Conditions

• Overtime and weekend work may be required to meet project deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
