Great place if you already have a book of business

Indeed Featured review

You're swimming with big hitters here. Guys closing 5m a month, big construction deals, multi million dollar homes, etc. No place to be if you are used to swimming with small fish.

Pros

Rates are awesome.

Cons

Technology is brutal with a capital B.

Not Bad, No Room For Advancement

U.S. Bank is a great company, being able to work remotely is a huge bonus. The major issue is once you get into certain departments it is difficult to continue your career. There is no opportunity for advancement opportunities.

Busy busy busy!!

Typical day at work is taking Lots of calls a day. Has great benefits though. I like the fact that you can use My time UPT the same day of your shift to just not work.

People were fun but training was horrible

Training was horrible and they expected you to know what wasn’t taught the turn over rate was extremely high and every single branch was always short staffed

Good if you are experienced and have eagle vision.

a typical day for me starts with heading into work, grabbing a coffee, preparing my work resources, and doing my job, but then halfway through my day, the manager comes in to say "hey you have been out of your desk quite a bit." which indeed is true, but i should note that i am special needs and i do have ADHD. and then they preach "every second counts!" to which i should iterate that the only reward for doing a set amount of work is more work. the workplace preaches a sense of balance between speed and quality, which i personally believe is asking a bit too much because they expect you to blitz through 2 envelopes a minute which sounds good on paper but it cultures a sense of speed over quality more times than not, most errors are garden variety and is the type of mistakes an average joe would make, ones such as myself who sets out to get a baseline mode of operation and try to slip into a monotonous habit trying to keep processing so you can boost your speeds, it is a bit disheartening. the culture around the place seems to be fun and upbeat but 9 times out of 10 it seems to always be a VERY busy bee mentality, its not like talking to other coworkers is not allowed, but it seems to be very disapproved of.

Pros

breakroom was quite nice, variety of food, some seasoned staff were pretty chill, we were able to use earbuds in the office

Cons

air con was wonky and will be wonky and the higher ups never fixed it, it was always a crunchy 75 degrees in summer and in winter it was around 62.

Stress managed by stress and lead by fear

High stress. Mgmt requires employees to fake it or they let you go. Bad environment and poor leadership. They tell you something and then you hear they told the sales dept something completely opposite.

Good experience

A well run company with good upward mobility. US Bank has a great reputation in the community. Benefits are excellent and the technology is also very good.

Great

Management is great and they’re very loyal to their employees. Training isn’t the best (you’re rushed to learn a lot in 6 weeks), but everyone is nice. Pay could be better.

Lackluster Leadership

Just another place to work. Move on. The pay is OK but there is no chance at promotion. It's tough to get most things done and communicating with anything IT related takes forever.

Great relationship within peers and management resulting to a fun work environment.

US Bank was a great company to work for. They made sure employees were on top of the information and changes happening with the company and how it can effect employees whether it be immediately or in the long run. A typical work place would be working with customer accounts and loans created with US Bank to ensure all correct documentation is or will be received. Employees are expected to work accurately in a timely matter. The hardest part about the job would be having to come into an agreement with peers as employees are mainly the ones who submits process improvements with their own ideas. The office is filled is different departments and employees try to make it work for every individual for a stronger work environment. I enjoyed every part about my job, the most enjoyable for me was helping customers and bankers with their requests from beginning to end.

Too many cheifs- not enough Indians

Too many management layers - work flows downward - they need to bring in the Bobs from office space They laid off tons of Union bank employees and replaced them with contractors paying them about $10 an hour less and with no benefits - they are only about the bottom line

Wonderful Company!

I've been with US Bank for over 1 year. I have enjoyed my time here. My managers have been awesome and the training has been amazing, My only complaint is the room for advancement for remote workers who live outside of the branch and headquarters areas.

Minimal training that does not prepare you for your role

This job has a lengthy training program that focuses on all the wrong places and the training provided does not prepare you well at all for your actual role. Scheduling is all over the place which they never make clear or consistent. You cannot move to new areas for growth for minimum one year. Direct in person management is nearly non existent except when they micro manage your time, even to use the restroom. Job itself is very mentally strenuous and their customers are always rude and angry. Also, even during emergency or disaster, expectation is made clear that you are not to hang up on the customer, you are expected to stay on calls to inform caller of situation. No matter the severity of the situation.

Pros

Some work from home

Cons

Everything else

As an Ex Convict I appreciate US Bank for employment.

As an employee there working remotely in TX where there are no branches. I’ve found the job itself to be a decent one. Pay is ok. But the training is an absolute joke. It was filled w nonsense and textbook style teaching, that does not prepare or provide you with the least bit of knowledge you’ll actually need for your first day on the floor. The 30 min shadow session you have at the very end of training is the most useful and effective method for getting the proper procedure you’ll need when you’re on call the first day. So please be sure to pay close attention to that itty bitty portion of the training session before they release you to the pack of wolves. On another note, I honestly appreciate USB has given me the opportunity to become apart of their team. It took nearly 3 months to finally land the job bc of my background, however the process to get through that portion of it all was extremely challenging. Only because of the fact that you feel almost judged and humiliated by what they’re wanting you to provide. Dispositions? Sure no problem. Police reports? Absolutely worth a try. I had to jump through hoops and realms of fire to find a 15 yr old police report which was never released to me or USB. But despite the lack of “evidence”… USB was willing to give me a shot as a fair chance opportunity. And for that I’m fortunate.

Pros

Second chance opportunity for felons. (Excluding theft & fraudulent charges)

Cons

Short breaks/lunch, & making you listen to your own calls for evaluation every week. (Critical & Cringe)

Horrible place to work!

Poor work-life balance. They are constantly outsourcing jobs and getting rid of entire departments with no notice. Poor management at all levels. They want a handful of people to work in departments and job functions that need three times more people than they are willing to hire. The only good thing was the pay, holiday pay, sick time, and vacation pay. However, it is still not worth the constant chaos, stress, and corporate backstabbing.

Banking Hours

I mostly enjoyed my time with US Bank. The culture was a little weird but that is because of the town, not the company. There was limited availability to advance unless you wanted to be a banker and don't even consider trying to be a banker with less than perfect credit - I get that it's a bank but divorce and medical emergencies can create a financial burden and there is no grace with your credit when trying to advance - and I was told you must be a banker to advance beyond a teller position, which is lame.

Pros

Banker hours, Holidays Off

Cons

Advancement is limited.

Invests in your learning

Team members are kind for the most part but can be hard to get things done with politics involved. Different lines of business seem to use different ways of working methodologies that don't seem compatible.

Good Work Life Balance

The company promotes work/life balance. Management is good. Lack of opportunities to move up though. Small footprint in Arizona. Benefits are decent - nothing out of the ordinary.

Poorly managed and you feel like a number

What is the best part of working at the company?Helping clients was the most rewarding, however they micromanage your time management and arr not understanding to internet speeds. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Being micromanaged about tools not responding and then being called a liar. What is the work environment and culture like at the company?I did WFH and it felt like you're another number Vs a person. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Sit, help clients through multiple tools
