For a beginner its dreams schook

McDermott is the one of the best company in uae. If u ask me the reason the mainly reason i consider it. McDermott takecare of their employees and encouraging them in learning process.

Easy to switch career but difficult to grow

Easy to switch career but difficult to grow .Management is supportive to switch between function horizontally to identify your point of strength in your career, yet it is difficult to grow vertically in any of the roles you assume.

Management on upper level is good I working from 3.5 year continue to much changes on this time but have one thing if you give your work with honestly you have to chance for success like as a forman leader man supervisor general forman

Nice equipment but no job security

Working in the offshore division you will not know when you are coming to work and when you get to work, you do not know when you will be able to go back home. There is no schedule, you will be forgotten at home for months at a time, your emails may or may not be returned. Early job completion reward nothing, you will be sent home as soon as job is complete. Pay and benefits are decent and equipment is taken care of.

Good place to learn

MCDERMOTT has a strong work culture. It is a great place to begin your career as you learn a lot. You are surrounded by multicultural people and that is really great.

Nice interesting job in combination with good team

I think it is good place to work for the entire life. I had a nice team and independence too for making decisions. Worked for about eight years. I knew guys there working for at least 30 years. So it must be nice company. Good luck!

Quiet atmosphere/manage everything without disturbing

It was an american company which deals with oil and gas projects. They make jackets and power station which are installed after digging at petroleum sites. They are very concerned about the employees regarding safety e. t. c.

It is good to work in McDermott.

Need for major change

Company needs to hire people with talent and not people referred by family and friends and needs to give all the employees the same benefits if doing the same work. Nepotism needs to be wiped out from Mcdermott.

you will learn a lot and become more competitive

Working in the company was exciting and a lot of hardwork as a new employee. I learn a lot from my senior colleagues. Work is fast-paced, after work is done, there's another work which is helpful to be more productive. I don't get much time to do personal things because I'm more focus on my work. But based on my observation, almost half of the employees, particularly seniors are laid back, don't work much, and more of chit chat to their colleagues. Most of the higher position also has redundant work, more on giving jobs under them. Politics in the company also was way too high. Some senior HR heads also was uncooperative and hard to please while some are very helpful. Overall, my experience working there was very productive for me because I gain a lot of knowledge and experience and had friends too.
