Good to work with. Overall, it is a nice company if you begin your career. Nice accommodation. But you live with a roommate. Below average meals. Difficult to get a promotion. Low wages. Nice people overall. 5 start hotel. Discount on its restaurants.

Fun workplace with room for advancement

IHG has rewarding career opportunities and they create a culture of respect and teamwork throughout their properties. They provide employees with a very nice meal break and several networking opportunities throughout the year. The management staff are welcoming and often check to see if you’re doing good at work and at home to maintain a healthy work life balance.

Many networking and career opportunities with the ability to grow within the company.

Culture inclusive, exciting, team efforts,

I am no longer with IHG Holiday Inn, Down Town Rochester NY. I recently relocated. But my stay there was exciting, a strong sense of job security. Management was very involved, they asked for feedback, and encouraged workers to be proactive. I personally was rewarded for my work ethic. I have nothing but positive things to say about IHG HOLIDAY Inn.

Good money , management and benefits. A lot of room for growth. They will not tolerated tardiness. They have a good strong HR that only helps certain people.

Nice management and good banquet fun, lots of free food.

Intend on finding someone to help you figure where to start.You need to plan what things proceed importance according to bookings.management is very nice and personable to what your schedule needs are.Lots of communication from students, lots of different languages, lots of fairness.not getting enough hours to compensate a lifestyle Free food, breakfast attendees are so good with tips, and cook staff is well-educated and overly adequate at food knowledge.

Intercontinental hotel is a hotel tht has helped me grow alot fr the period I have worked here...it tends to encourage us to work hard n achieve more then our expectations hence them recognizing staffs who do more than expected and delivering the true hospitality of intercontinental brand

inclusive work environment , no communication

Depending on the department you are in , this job can make or break you , it all depends on what you make it . I think this hotel has an great idea of what it is striving to be however there lies a constant disconnection with staff , management and overall communication and effective plan to meet these set goals . There are always ideas from “ leadership “ but never a seamless effective plan to get there and maintain consistency . Upper management doesn’t SEEM ( and I use that term carefully ) to resonate with the opinions and challenges workers face on a day to day basis . The chain of command is very apparent yet ineffective in my option . It’s unfortunate because it is a pretty comfortable environment to work. Some of the challenges I face on the daily are little to no communication when needed most , no staff support and no sense of urgency to prevent small matters from turning unto bigger , detrimental issues . Employee retention here is not great and I am starting to see why .

Overworked and Underpaid

Always expected to do more than what you're hired for, not very good about promoting from within. IHG policies don't match with training, training videos not available in Spanish.

Immediate boss

Iteraction with other deparments was good for the day. Owner upset when things not always going right. Always something to learn, much to do to fill tasks asked of you
