A Professional Place to have a Hospitality Career
Rooms Division Manager (Current Employee) - Osoyoos, BC - March 25, 2018
I have been at Spirit Ridge for a year now and I have personally enjoyed seeing how the hotel has grown over the past year. There was some organizational challenges when I had first arrived as many management positions were vacant or did not exist. The current management team is working very hard to make this a better place for the staff to work but also a great place for the guests to stay at as well. Lots of emphasis is being made on making sure the staff have what they need to do their jobs and to do it well. Culture is very important as well and we have lots of discussions on how to make sure we have the right culture as a hotel.
There is a lot of changes at the hotel since the hotel joined the Hyatt brand, but it all seems to be very well received by the guests and I look forward for the changes that are still to come. Already now, we get lots of really positive feedback from our guests and it is because of how well everyone works together to take care of our guests. Lots of people asking "How do we make it better?" Change is hard but it is very rewarding in the end for those willing to be a part of it.
Pros
Discounts at winery, golf course and other Hyatt Hotels!

Great experience
Rooms division management training (Former Employee) - Chicago, IL - August 3, 2015
That was a hard time, but amazing work and life experience and I can defiantly say that after that I am well trained.
That hotel is a union hotel, so when you are not a part of it, it makes things a bit more difficult. Also 2019 rooms is a lot of work to do and everyone had to work overtime, but as of now, unless i will be working in even bigger hotel - stress is not a problem.
