Low chance of advancement
Trade Middle Office Associate (Current Employee) - Singapore - December 2, 2017
Low chance of advancement as everything is structured in my department Same daily routine. Bureaucratic. Everything is under your line manager's decision. Everything is specialized so you only do one small part of the chain. If you wanna a decent job without thinking about advancement or brainstorming in your career, then working here is a safe choice. Anyway, it may not be correct review for the whole bank but for my department only.
Pros
Good salary
Cons
No advancement in your career

HSBC was a good place to work because of the benefits and work environment.
Office Manager Assistant (Former Employee) - Schaumburg, IL - April 14, 2015
I processed and prepared data for the manager. I enjoyed working with the co-workers and management. The hardest part was working a very late shift. HSBC pays very well and have excellent benefits and long breaks.
Pros
great pay and long breaks.
Cons
Laid off after the recession.
