The most useful review selected by IndeedGCI is involved in various offerings and as a whole is a wonderful company to work for. The management in general cares about work/life balance and encourages employees to take time off as needed.
There is no "typical" day at work as each contract is different with different requirements and cultures.
Overall I would recommend GCI, Inc as a great place to work.

Friendly and forward moving business culture

Working for GCI was a privilege. A well established organization with Alaskan roots. There were ample trainings and resources available for use. The information organization and aloted time to train made it difficult to preform the job up to the desired standards. There were a multitude of supervisors, managers, and Trainers willing to assist employees with questions. I learned a lot from my time at GCI and would work for them again.

Easy work depending on department

It depends on what department you are in. There are a few different departments, so you have different supervisors and such. Over all its not a horrid place to work. If you just go to work and do your job.

If you enjoy being lied to and awful management than work here . Lies and talks bad about you once your back is turned , inhale chemicals all day and on your feet 11 to 12 hours a day . Treated like your kindergarten and you will work for free because they don't pay after your schedule. If your 5 or 15 minutes over your shift they deny pay but you can't just leave . Boss lies when you ask questions about medical leave

Great retirement. Fringe benefits are great. Lots of opportunity to move around within the company after you have been there a while. Internal departments are very responsive to emails and phone calls.
