Great group of co-workers. Great pay.

Indeed Featured review

I really liked working for this company. I was able to do quite a bit of overtime, which I wanted and had a great group of guys to work with. There really was no paid sick time or holiday pay and for me it was about an hour to drive to work, so must have reliable transportation.Overall, good place to work.

Pros

Managers often did free lunches on Fridays.

Cons

Hard dollar job, no paid time off.

Foreman overlords disapprove having to step out of their trucks

Workplace environment is busy, time consuming, and challenging. I enjoyed the various repairs, fabrications, and installations we had to do. However the foreman would leer at you from their tiny trucks, honk the horn to get your attention, not provide rides to the gate, and complain when they had to get out and DO something other than watch netflix. There were probably 3-4 foreman's that actually were pro-active and helpful but the rest are a joke. They could elevate brown nosing to an artform to make themselves seem the most important person.Upper management reacts to situations quickly when extra equipment is needed (which is nice). They've always been available for discussing issues and quick to provide solutions. Co-workers make up for the lack luster foreman with a close knit group. Many are more than willing to show how to improve or different techniques.

Pros

Co-workers are awesome, extensive tool room, wide range of job types

Cons

Horrible foreman, most trucks don't have AC

Good

Good job they don't push you unless you don't want to follow instruction only down fall and I guess it's with all pipeline jobs not a steady job one day they say 3 weeks left then the next they have 30 layoffs

Awesome!

I loved working this job! The work load was good while work was available. It kept us all busy...building water purification tanks. I learned a lot!

Good place to work but not secure

the field employees are great the problem our office had was our manager he was clueless about the work we would do. He depends on superintendents to work on bid and job estimates.

Productive work enviorment

Over all this is a great company to work for. The only thing I disliked about this company was that I would have to travel 100% of the time.

Pros

Great opportunity advancements for hard workers.

Cons

Travel

Good employees to work with

A typical day would include organizing all mail to separate bills for job costing, gaining approval for said bills, and then entering those bills for payment into accounting system. This process included scanning them and job costing them to the specific job they were used so that the accounting system could show the profitability of each job. In addition, I was available to help any of the superintendents write documents such as job bids, order equipment for current jobs/assist equipment manager in tracking rental equipment, answer phones, track employee OSHA training, file paperwork, etc. The hardest part of the job is that the company had been bought out by a corporation in another city while the work was in another creating a disconnect in communication and understanding of company needs. The most enjoyable part of the job was getting to work with a multitude of individuals and learning about what it took for pipeline construction.
