I dig it here. I love to weld so it’s not really “work” and the days go by fast. We are union so that has its pros and cons. Feeling the stress of upcoming contract negotiations now. Just being left it a state of wonder. Honestly if the contract stayed the same I’d be fine with it. I really don’t have any issues with the current contract. I’d like to keep coming to work and make that money.

Bully culture and ble culture, no team work and contractors are not liked either, on a positive note the projects are good, better management is required

Hard Place to work in

Management can tell you what to do at anytime and you are supposed to jump hoops for them when asked terrible people and terrible place and feels like the whole place is stuck in the past

Worst place I’ve ever worked

The worst place I have ever worked. Micromanaging on all levels. Revolving door of employees. People in supervision that has no business in that role. Forced to get vaccinated then told it’s not a requirement.

Screening process is intense but once you're in it's a very professional environment. On the job training towards advancement available. Safety number one priority.. just a good place to work.

Great to work here. Good conditions Good policies and work/life balance Lots of duplication and crossover between Currently too much change which is disruptive, not adequately planned/coordinated and impacts to employees underestimated.

Okay place to work

Started at bae as an apprentice. applied for voluntary redundancy 8 years later and didn't look back. They seem stuck in old ways of doing things. Often treat workforce like children.

Great for gaining experience and desired qualifications, Good rates of pay, good health and safety and a desired place of work. The most enjoyable part of the Job was the work environment.

BAE Systems is a great place to work and has lots of work for years to come. It's a comfortable place to work and has very good holidays and it takes into consideration the well being of employees

a well run organisation good to work for a company that listens to issues the workforce may have and

busy and rewarding Everything from health and safety to the need to be right first time Good and informative. to do the best and to be the best getting things right everytime demanding but acheavable. The complete package the workforce and facilietys second to none

What i have learned

BAE was a great company to work for with a good working culture. I learned how to work with people in many different environments as well as a strong attention to safety.

Hard but mostly enjoyable

get your task for the day ahead and left to get on with it. how to communicate with all levels of authority and respect for others,how to work as a individual or part of a team,the management could be firm but fair,the co workers were the ones that made the company a place you enjoyed going to work,the hardest part of the job was managing times for deliveries between runs,the most enjoyable part was knowing that you had done your best and a lot of gratitude from co workers

Welcoming and great teamwork is achieved working here. Every job is inspected very closely by Quality Control to strict specifications.

good working enviroment

meet team in the morning for job packs to be completed gained lots of experience in steel ship building high safety standards lots internal training for various things such as forklift, cherry picker... good local managment
