Senior Internal Auditor (Current Employee) - New town square - May 19, 2022
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedUnnecessary levels of management. Upper management have been there for a long time, not up to date with current times. Management is constantly changing the normal process when it’s convenient for them.

Nepotism
Credentialing Coordinator (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - May 10, 2022
As in all that places there is nepotism. Promotions are about who you know or seem to be about who you are related to. Saw too many people get fired for production statistics. The company does a lot of charity work albeit volunteer work. The benefits are excellent but salaries could be higher. Management needs to be more in tune to its employees in terms of needs to perform their jobs. Human Resources could also be more attentive.
Pros
Benefits and charity work
Cons
Management and advancement

Great pay
Service Coordinator (Current Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - April 26, 2022
I’m not a fan of Field work. Great pay. Good management They give you a lot of trainings. I need a change. They don’t pay for mileage. I work with a lot of different agencies.

Great mission but poor mgmt
UM Tech (Current Employee) - Jacksonville, FL - April 26, 2022
Great benefits and good pay. However, management is not knowledgeable about the basics. The little guy gets less bonus but management get the bigger bonuses.

Great company to work for with great benefits and pay. Also with the option to move up or move in a different department
Pharmacy Technician 1 (Current Employee) - Raleigh, NC - April 13, 2022
Great company, automatic PTO when you start, great insurance, and easy going upper management. Plenty of overtime, not mandatory, time in a half on the holidays if you have to work.

Productive and fun workplace
Provider Claims Member Full Services (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - April 12, 2022
Productive and fun workplace. Would recommend this workplace to anyone who is looking for a job with a very pleasant atmosphere. This place is one of my favorite places to have worked.

Another stressful call center job.
Care Connector (Former Employee) - Raleigh, NC - April 8, 2022
The worst training ever. You get trained to do one thing. Then get thrown out there on your own to do something else. Then when you make a mistake you get talked to in the most condescending way. Benefits aren't great either you pay unexpected costs outside of your copay. You only get PTO no sick time. So if you need to take off unexpectedly for being sick you will get an occurrence for not giving a 72 hour notice. If you are looking for a job that supports work life balance this isn't the job for you.

Overworked
Care Connector (Current Employee) - Raleigh, NC - April 6, 2022
Giving your all is never enough. They push and push and push until your only option is to find another place of employment.Management is very rude, it’s almost as if they look for people with nasty attitudes to give the tile too.

Hard working environment
Financial Analyst (Current Employee) - Newtown, PA - April 3, 2022
It’s a great company and the management is nice but the workload is very large. After about a year of co workers transferring work over to me, it feels quite a bit overwhelming. There’s almost too much to do and not enough time to do it. Many of the tenured people there tend to work really late as well. Getting your managers attention is very hard since they are so busy so training is a learn as you go type deal. If you’re looking for an easy job this definitely is not it.

Going downhill
Utilization Management Supervisor (Current Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 30, 2022
This company is night and day from when I started 6 years ago. I think they started expanding too rapidly, focusing way to much on “cost containment” and making haphazard changes and constant restructuring and the result has been enormous turnover and instability. They have “restructured” about 4 times over the past 5 years and nothing seems to work. it is a very top heavy company, not enough people to do the actual work, but plenty of people to tell you what you are not doing or doing wrong. they actually continue to eliminate positions yet add directors and VPs. poor management. they do not want to see their own employees succeed. they want everyone to be good but not great and shut up and do what you are told. this place is a sinking ship. steer clear of the UM dept at all costs unless you are a glutton for punishment.
Pros
decent pay
Cons
constant turnover, poor management

It’s a job.
Provider Relations Representative (Former Employee) - Jacksonville, FL - March 22, 2022
It paid the bills. Management is unprofessional and could be better. A job you keep until you find another. Pay was ok. Flexible job schedule was very helpful.

as if they can get the most work out of you..Alot of
case manager, care coordinator (Former Employee) - Southfield, MI - March 21, 2022
redundentcy in paperwork. two faced managers Management wants you to put out a certain amount of work but dont look at the amount or quality of work. In this position the amount of work and your work census more than double of same job at similar companies. For example, case manager is supposed to see a client to do initial plan of care and history. Then this has to all be written up on computer. Medications are listed and gone over with client. Every day there is a meeting of every one in the department to give a report on each client. There is much more too do. All this is for the manager's 500 clients..At other organizations the census each usually around 300 and the additional paperwork, etc as mentioned above to be divided up between 2 to 3 people.
Pros
frequent employee breakfast (brought
Cons
weak benefits. Personal census too high.

Used to be good
Utilization Review (Current Employee) - South Carolina - March 17, 2022
Grew too fast, people making decisions don’t listen to employees. Overworked, now have to work holidays. Pay is mediocre, morale terrible, but no one will listen. Now added on micromanaging for the terrible workplace trifecta.

Mentally Exhausting - No advancement
Provider Claims Representative (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 16, 2022
Some supervisors/managers will not allow advancement to other depts . To go to another dept, the approval of mananagement is required. Even when you meet all expectations, if you're good at your job, often, your manager would rather keep you in the same position as it benefits their department. Must meet monthly metrics and productivity. You're only as good as your last month's numbers. Can be highly stressful.

Out of touch upper management. We get emails from the ceo but the SVP levels is never seen or heard from
Director, Provider Data Management (Current Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 16, 2022
Not a good place to work. The VP and higher levels are out of touch and do not care about the staff. Need to take a look at have the correct number of people hired to get the work done.

Glorified Data Processor
Claims Examiner (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 12, 2022
It’s an ok job but it’s not claim handling, you are an glorified data processor, training is not good, when you need help or have an question they tell you to use online help. And the usage of Verint to track claim examiners productivity is not good. When examining a claim you have to be pressing a key at all times. Management is not very helpful .

Lack of open management
Utilization Manager (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 5, 2022
Benefits and salary were top notch. However, depending upon the department you work in there are significant differences in the management of departments and wanting staff to be successful in their job versus undermining and personal destruction of others to boost their own egos. Workers are only as good as their managers are willing to train.

Meh…
Finance (Current Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 1, 2022
The culture of this company has drastically changed. There seems to be little to no guidance and the turnover is increasing. There doesn’t seem to be any development in staff just robots crunching numbers.

The best thing about Amerihealth is the benefits.
Medical Claims Examiner (Former Employee) - Philadelphia, PA - March 1, 2022
The best thing about Amerihealth is the benefits. They have recently caught up with the times and raised the base pay for a medical claims examiner which is great. As with almost any other job each manager is different. There are some who tend to micromanage and there are others who help you and allow room for growth.
