Not a good place anymore since new Administration

Very bad administration. CEO promotes country men mostly and has no clue. He is very much manipulated by others who are close to him. Not at all professional and does not respect doctors in general. Has different rules for everyone depending upon your nationality etc

One of the best companies to work for

Working with AHD was one of my best chances to improve my skills especially in customer service. Good thing about it's management is that they always listen to staff and always looking for improvement in different areas. Applying the latest technology keeps this company at the top.

Registered NICU

Dont appear for the interview for temporary vacancy in RN, you will be doing the porter job afterwards... non standard Having 8 exp in NICU, they send for assit nurse on other dept. High target for the freshers, but you will be pizzed off

I learned more about oncology through multidisciplinary team meetings. I enjoyed cytology cases. Lab management and techniques are among the finest in UAE

Great place to work

Great place and Great colleagues. The management is very efficient. The spirit of customer service is taken very seriously. There is no Compromise on Patient safety and quality of treatment provided. The entire team strives towards being the best private health care provider in the middle east operating under American standards. The core vales of Commitment, Integrity Communication,collaboration, Respect and team work. Great Experience.

Lots to learn

Easy to learn. will get different knowledge in different fields like electrical,mechanical,hvac,Kitchen equipment's,Generators, Access control, Fire alarm.

Fun and Productive

Doctor is a very nice person. Taught me all there is to know in a clinical atmosphere. Learned about all the patient and doctor interactions. Very multicultural atmosphere.

*Not* American standards

As a western nurse, the standards at this facility are much below American standards. It seems the facility only does things correctly when its time for accreditation. As a western nurse, expect to feel like you are practising nursing as it was 15-20 years ago. Complete lack of professional autonomy, critical thinking is discouraged and change is not accepted. The hospital equipment you will be working with is out dated and old, the pharmacy system is beyond horrible, and the policy and procedures of the hospital make you feel like a glorified care giver and not a nurse. The management is absolutely incompetent and "team leaders" are not leaders since they havent taken care of a patient themselves in years. Also, work schedules do not come out until a few days before the next schedule begins, which does not allow for much personal life planning. BEWARE before signing any contracts.

Internship experience

I completed an internship with the American Hospital of Dubai. I learnt how to professionals communicated with patients or relatives, more about what the job required, such as the day to day research including patient's daily requirements. My co-workers were professional clinical dieticians, I was observing what they did. I think the hardest part of the job was communicating with some patients as some people are more stubborn. The most enjoyable part of the job is the ability to make a difference.

Teamwork

In the Department I work for the assistant admin work,we work together as a team. We know what needs to get done and we help each other to accomplish that. With the numerous tasks I also help the team to meet our deadlines. We have a common goal and we work together to meet the challenge. The management organize training and seminars for the staff so we can handle things very easy and useful for our daily needs or any typical day at work and how we will handle stress on our day to day basis.So for me, a typical day is nothing for me because of the training we learned from the management. The hardest part of my job is when we meet our deadlines and i need to get Doctor's signature and they are busy assisting patient no choice but to wait for them.The most enjoyable part is everytime we have deadlines we submit it on time and your boss tapping you and says I DID A GOOD JOB!
