Training is decent but the actual job is a joke
Pay could be much better considering the job. Management is Awful. They need a different system. Its designed to protect the company, not the member. It should be a good balance of both

The worst experience I have ever encountered. High demand. Low pay. Management was not supportive in anyway. Not a job for someone looking to grow
Travel Agent Consultant (Former Employee) - Remote - September 2, 2023
Honestly speaking this was the worst experience I have ever had in my entire career. The company has no loyalty to there employees Hard work with lots of stress makes this whole experience one of the worst. I lasted for months and got out of there. My position was travel advisor, most of the time I was transferring calls to other departments, under a microscope 8 hrs a day and received nothing but almost minim wage pay. Working remote was great but no support what do ever. Very discouraging
Pros
Remote
Cons
Management. Low pay. Long hours Low commission.

Worse company EVER
Member service counselor (Former Employee) - Providence, RI - August 29, 2023
There is no give with this company if you have anything outside the job going on such as serious illnesses. They basically will tell you to quit and re-apply later if you so desire. Micromanagement to the extreme with your calls and then they give you monitoring reports of your calls that are extremely unfair. One sup will mark you off for missing a word and another won't. You have to fight the reviews with appeals that generally get you no where. Requests for additional training is there, but sometimes you wait a month or 2 for that training as you are struggling to do your job. Management is horrible. I had a great Supervisor, but they can only do so much if you have any issues. This is a good job if you just need a temporary income until you find a GREAT job. This place is NOT IT. Team work is a two way street and this company dictates with no give and then will fire you if they see fit. It's a one way street with AAA. No compassion for their employee's. Life happens, illnesses happens and you would hope to have a stellar employer work with you to resolve the issues, but they don't do that here.
Pros
None really
Cons
To many to list.

Great company overall/insurance company and role clarity need work
Insurance Sales Agent (Former Employee) - Hamden, CT - August 8, 2023
Great organization. The insurance company is a newer one and not very customer centric. The billing is tedious. The sales role also includes incidental service which is a conflict.
Pros
Company culture, pay, benefits, time off
Cons
Short lunch break, no outside eating area, newer insurance company with kinks

Poor Pay, lack of incentives
AAA Customer Service (Current Employee) - AAA Northeast - August 3, 2023
AAA at first looks nice on paper. Once you are in, depending on where you are. The pay isn't great, if you work a commission style customer service job expect to be required to hit certain thresholds for payout. If you do not reach numbers you will not be paid for anything sold that month. The overall job itself is misleading, I wish I stayed put at my previous job. Also, you are monitored on everything, breaks, answering phones, etc. Expect to be micromanaged, during my time here I have seen 3-5 people quit in my department, now I understand why.
Pros
Some company events, voluntary time off
Cons
Pay, Micromanagement, not much growth

Awful management
Branch Manager II (Former Employee) - Cranston, RI - June 25, 2023
First and second layer managers have no clue what the are doing the directors are blind and the favoritism throughout the organization is so awful that unless you fit in you will not develop or grow. Especially in the branches in RI. Never again. Worst decision ever.

Good Opportunity
Assistant Branch Manager (Former Employee) - Waltham, MA - June 17, 2023
Working there was a good opportunity to grow management skills. Had its flaws as far as how members were allowed to be disrespectful to staff. Overall a good working experience.

Great training, pay, benefits
Life and Health Insurance Agent (Current Employee) - Boston, MA - June 13, 2023
Just started working here recently for AAA life - it has been a welcoming environment all around and everyone is extremely helpful. Hourly pay (in MA), plus commision on all sales, pages and pages and pages of rebates/benefits -very easy to navigate the systems at AAA as they’ve been simplified to a great extent -

Great entry level job
Call Center Member Service Representative (Former Employee) - Wayne, NJ - June 9, 2023
The pay was about $16 plus bonuses for sales quota and credit card sign up. Hours were set. Be careful with time card/how long you stay 'busy' after a call even if it is to mail out something for a customer.

Productive and Fun Work Place
Director of Finance (Current Employee) - Providence, RI - May 30, 2023
Great place to work with many opportunities to learn new business lines and many opportunities for internal promotions. There are many great health and wellness benefits as well.

Lost the plot
MSC (Current Employee) - Massachusetts - May 23, 2023
AAA has lost the plot when it comes to automotive services. AAA has become an Amazon Hub...what does that have to do with automotive? Clerks at the counter are AAA call center. Pay is poor, management micromanages. Cameras are everywhere.
Pros
flexibility, healthcare
Cons
micromanages, poor pay for the multitude of transactions AAA provides.

When you get calls to do tire changes, and or gas calls on the freeway. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Productive but easy
Customer Service Representative (Current Employee) - Remote - May 19, 2023
Repetitive job very easy to master. Management is laid back as long as you’re doing what your supposed to do. Work from home equipment supplied. I wished they started at at least $20

Stressful
Insurance CSR (Former Employee) - Wayne, NJ - May 17, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? When it’s time to punch out to go home. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Being overworked and underpaid. Not enough people to answer the phones and the people are not very friendly. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Most of the people were not friendly. There is a very stressful work environment. What is a typical day like for you at the company? One of the worst jobs I ever had.

A great job if you're not looking to progress.
Member Services I: Roadside Assistance (Former Employee) - Newburgh, NY - remote - May 9, 2023
This company does everything but promote efficiency or mental health; yes, many people no longer wish to be employed for the money but there is a point where a 20 cents raise per year with no room for advancement if you are region locked in one of the locations with no offices open to the public sucks. AAA Northeast helps its employees get to the next step by providing a decent wage and giving work-from-home continued chances after the slow exit out of the pandemic, however it doesn't work to keep employees after entry position.

Worst work place ever!!
Sales Associate (Former Employee) - East Providence, RI - May 3, 2023
Absolutely worst job I’ve ever had! They treat their workers like children and force you into meetings to make work connections that you did not ask for. They also don’t listen to their employees as much as they say they do. If you aren’t at the top of the hierarchy, your voice means nothing. Talking to so many people about working there they all said the same thing, “I know someone that worked there and hated it.” It’s so true, the employee retention is really poor. I wouldn’t recommend this to my worst enemy. Don’t forget they also had current employees create 5.0 star reviews and of course they highlighted those reviews to be at the top to make themselves look good. I’ve never had a lower point in my life than working for this company and I suggest you run, not walk.

AAA Northeast is a company of companies and a great place for a career
Management (Current Employee) - Connecticut - April 28, 2023
I started at AAA as an Insurance Agent Trainee, learned quite a lot from my training and hands on experience, helping me quickly obtain my P & C Insurance License. From there I worked in Branch Operations, Travel and Insurance, leading to an opportunity as a Branch Manager. After several years in Branch Operations, I secured a manager role in Automotive Call Centers. From there Automotive Dispatch, Fleet and Field Operations leading to my current management role in Automotive. Whatever your interest(s), Insurance, Member Services, Travel, HR, Training, Marketing, Government Affairs, IT, Data Analytics, Finance, Call Center, Automotive Fleet, Dispatch or Field Operations, AAA Northeast is a company of companies and opportunities are everywhere within this outstanding organization. The best part, our mission is to help people every single day.
