Poor Management
Title Clerk (Former Employee) - Pleasant Hills, PA - September 19, 2023
Indeed Featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNice co-workers. Pay is dismal and new hires are paid the same or more. The push sales when it’s not part of your job. They show a lot of favoritism and cater to the whiners. I enjoyed my job but would not recommend it to others.

No complaints
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Cleveland, OH - April 22, 2023
It was fine I really have no complaints about the company itself just rude customers. The pay could be better but I could say the same for any Job. Good work life balance.

Excellent
CSR (Former Employee) - Elizabethtown, KY - April 19, 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? There are no favorites everyone is treated equally What is the most stressful part about working at the company? This not actually a stressful job What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Open door basis where you can speak with supervisors if you're having any problems What is a typical day like for you at the company? Taking membership payments and selling items in the Travel Store. You also give out travel information

Horrible place to work
Sales Account Executive (Former Employee) - Independence, OH - April 18, 2023
AAA has a 45% turn over rate and poor management. In the Sales Account executive position you have to do 100 calls a day and do a daily call log and give it to your manager every evening. You have to meet your quota of 67 sales a month and if you don’t meet it the number that you miss roles over to the following month. I was misled about this job and don’t think that Management is fair nor up on competition. They don’t tell you everything you have to do in the position. Once you get the job you won’t like it.
Pros
Remote
Cons
Poor management, your micro manage, goal is 67 sales, 100 calls a day in which they give you bad leads. A lot of administrative work, No help from management

Just a job
Customer service (Former Employee) - Remote - April 17, 2023
Working remotely was nice but they weren't completely up front with the expectations. Needing to put my child in daycare wasn't doable with the pay rate and I wasn't given a great chance.

Compensation is decent but management has their favorites. Need to work Saturdays if goals aren’t met.You will be on the phones all day. Upsell upsell upsell. High turnover at my office.

Management Power Hungry
Office Lead (Current Employee) - Martinsburg, WV - November 21, 2022
I've worked at AAA a Long time. Used to Love my job. In the last few years the company has lost so many great people. Including wonderful managers. They only care about sales & money. New management micro manages you to Death! Miserable place to work. I've seen so many new emoyees leave within a couple months because they were lied to. Management says they want your input but totally discards it. You could make all goals and they point out the Golden Employee that exceeded their goals. All your goals are posted daily in a group chat and compared with co workers. This is not motivational! Our yearly bonus was taken away. Now we get SNACKS as a reward. Seriously, never imagined it could be this much of a joke. Very disappointing that I won't stay until retirement. I struggle to be there daily. :( Management thinks because AAA is their entire life it should be yours. No Thanks.

This is most toxic and crazy unprofessional atmosphere, people learn at diff speeds
sales (Former Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - October 17, 2022
AAA really does not care about you.. They have old moldy building and have old computer systems (yes dos) Training if you want to call it that. IT is more about popularity. THe trainer at main branch has no patience and have favorites. Many people with no sales or phone skills, and were scared to call. Very unprofessional. Very toxic. They brag about how much company they make but keep everyone in an old moldy office for years. They put alot of pressure on selling. Sales is my strength. In the end , they cared more about 75 tabs and I that I needed a reminder where one was! IT is not positive atmosphere. They pick on who they dont like. I confirmed this with another branch manager who was at another location. People learn at different speeds. They didnt get me a chance Training says they want you to ask questions, to justify their job. If you make them get up and show you, you are lucky if you last another day. Wacky place. It wasnt me cause I have jobs that do not pull this. I am strong season sales person who didnt even get a chance to do it. They were more worried that I didnt know how to use the system. People learn at different paces. Training is suppose to help not complain that had to get up off their chair to help. I met an ex manager for a location and this person agreed they nit picked. Hr wasnt very profressional either.
Pros
benefits, done at 5pm
Cons
contradictory messages, you do work nights and weekends, small moldy office, unproffessional trainers, top management is toxic and power hungry

Best Job I have ever had - 20 plus years of working experience
Branch Manager III (Current Employee) - Pennsylvania - October 14, 2022
In over two decades, I can without a doubt say I have never felt more seen and supported by a company. I have had two different direct supervisors in my time here (one retired) and both have been very supportive whenever I needed anything. Executives are very nice and career development is good/lots of opportunities. Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging initiatives are also wonderful! Highly recommend.

Sales Representative (Former Employee) - Independence, OH - September 22, 2022

Wacky and disappointing
Insurance sales (Former Employee) - East central. - September 21, 2022
I thought working there would be fun as being a member? This place was so toxic with conflicting messages. They post about learning from mistakes however not the case. They focus it’s about making sales goals however if you don’t remember where 50 tabs are …you are gone . They nitpick about everything . You are suppose to sit in training for 4 months straight without a break . They say you can take a call or take a break however the crazy trainer follows you . The trainers types and slams on her keyboard reporting you . It’s worst then high school ! Everyone learns different .

Don't Bother
unspecified (Former Employee) - unspecified - September 10, 2022
Between the difficult application process - wanna retype your entire resume for them on a program that's not user friendly, AFTER they've not only received a copy but asks you to upload it as well, which fails to allow you to create an account then asks you to log in when you return, to recruiters reading your resume and directly asking you to apply, then denying you once you do - it's not worth your time. This used to be a very good company but they really have gone south.

It's a good company to work for but the work-life balance is a struggle.
Insurance Agent (Current Employee) - Uniontown, PA - August 31, 2022
There's opportunities to make good money in the insurance department. Everything is tied around the memberships sometimes hard to sell memberships. There's a lot of opportunity by phone and in person to get new business as well as events structured around getting quotes in sales. There's a lot of money to be made and it is uncapped. My biggest concern in this world is the work life balance as I have small children.
Pros
Good pay and benefits
Cons
Poor work life balance

Positive, Fun and Happy workplace
Retail Service Specialist 4 (Former Employee) - Altoona, PA - July 29, 2022
The AAA culture is one of inclusivity and positive support. Any potential employee would be blessed to work at such a wonderful company like AAA. I had a great experience there. My supervisor and coworkers were so helpful I really felt like part of the family while I was there.

Fleet Manager
Fleet Manager (Former Employee) - Louisville, KY - July 8, 2022
Fleet was started from scratch and shut down less than two years later. Too many auto club factions have a say in how your operation is run. There is ACE, East Cntral, ACMO, and on and on. Nobody wants to make a decision on anything. There are a lot of great and dedicated people who work at AAA but the overall bureaucracy make it a hard place to work.
Pros
Long term coworkers
Cons
Bureaucracy

Stable company to work for
Recruiter (Former Employee) - United States - June 3, 2022
The club has the veiw of if you keep the employees happy it trickles down to the members, so a lot of emphasis is put on emplyee benefits, compensation, and work/life bala ce. The club executives does its best to have managers that support their employees and have a positive work environment.
Pros
100% 401k match, vacation commission benefit
Cons
Hybrid/remote limited availability

Horrible
Branch Specialist II (Former Employee) - Hermitage, PA - May 26, 2022
They are horrible to work for. Offices are super clique-y. Management is awful. Corporate is ridiculous. No work life balance. Need to go to the doctors? Good luck.

Too many lazy coworkers carried by the rest.
Dispatcher/Customer Service (Current Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - May 15, 2022
You're in one side of the office and people are working their rear ends off you take a few steps and another direction and monitors are turned off people playing on their phones throwing temper tantrums, etc. Not to mention, It's the most disorganized company I've ever seen.

Senior Management
Branch Manager (Current Employee) - Pittsburgh, PA - April 30, 2022
Senior management is a group of friends that hired friends and if you are not in their circle you will be left behind. I choose to surround myself with good people. AAA East Central does not have good humans managing from Pittsburgh.

Management is atrocious and cannot be trusted.
Branch Specialist IV (Current Employee) - Wheeling, WV - January 25, 2022
I really loved working for AAA at first. Then management started to abuse me and my kindness. They will take advantage of you just like they do everyone else and not feel the least bit sorry for it.
Pros
Coworkers and members/customers
Cons
Literally everything except for coworkers and members/customers

An everyday challenge
Customer Service Representative (Former Employee) - Independence, OH - October 24, 2021
Not the best work environment. Too many overpromoted employees that think their know it alls. There's a click of supervisors that just sit and talk about everyone on the floor. If you ask for assistance you're treated badly. I walked out during the "nesting" period.
Pros
Compensation
Cons
Division among employees
