Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Fine Dining Waiter/Waitress with a minimum of 5 years in fine dining who understands the nuances of luxury hospitality and can deliver impeccable service while embodying the warmth and authenticity of Arab hospitality. The ideal candidate is a passionate service professional with a strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette, an understanding of the cuisine served, and an unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction.

As a Waiter/Waitress at Gerbou, you will engage with guests, anticipate their needs, and ensure that each dining experience is seamless and personalized. You must be able to explain the menu in detail, recommend dishes confidently, and serve with grace and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:Exceptional Guest Service

• Welcome guests with a warm and genuine Emirati hospitality approach.
• Provide a personalized and engaging dining experience, ensuring each guest feels valued.
• Anticipate guest needs, offering thoughtful recommendations and catering to special requests.
• Maintain an elevated yet friendly demeanor, creating a balance between luxury service and approachability.
• Handle guest inquiries and concerns with professionalism, always finding solutions to ensure satisfaction.

Fine Dining Expertise

• Uphold the highest standards of fine dining service, including table settings, food presentation, and etiquette.
• Possess a deep understanding of the menu, including the ingredients, preparation methods, and cultural significance of dishes.
• Be knowledgeable about traditional Emirati beverages, mocktails, to enhance the guest experience.
• Serve dishes with precision, care, and an understanding of pacing, ensuring a flawless dining experience.
• Maintain proper table-side etiquette, including silver service, crumbing, and synchronized service techniques.

Teamwork & Professionalism

• Work closely with hostesses, chefs, and fellow service staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.
• Follow pre-shift briefings to stay updated on special menu items, VIP guests, and daily service strategies.
• Maintain a polished and professional appearance, representing Gerbou’s refined brand identity.
• Assist in setting up and closing down the restaurant, ensuring all service areas are immaculate.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant (luxury hospitality preferred).
• Strong understanding of fine dining service, etiquette, and guest engagement techniques.
• Deep knowledge of Emirati cuisine and the ability to explain dishes with confidence.
• Friendly, warm, and hospitable personality, aligned with Arab hospitality values.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining grace and composure.
• Excellent communication skills in English; Arabic is a plus.
• Well-groomed with a professional, refined appearance.
• A guest-first mindset with a passion for delivering memorable experiences.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in a Michelin-starred restaurant, five-star hotel, or high-end dining venue.
• Familiarity with VIP guest handling and personalized service approaches.
• Knowledge of traditional Arabic coffee and hospitality rituals.
