Job Summary

Intel Lab LLC is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Quality Manager to oversee and continuously improve the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulatory requirements, ISO standards, and EIAC accreditation requirements.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing laboratory quality assurance activities, coordinating audits and accreditation assessments, monitoring quality control processes, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The role requires strong technical knowledge of core laboratory departments, effective quality management expertise, and a commitment to maintaining accurate and reliable laboratory results, patient safety, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the laboratory's Quality Management System (QMS).
• Establish, review, and update quality policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality manuals, forms, and related documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable UAE healthcare regulations, ISO standards, EIAC requirements, and relevant laboratory accreditation standards.
• Plan and conduct internal quality audits and coordinate external audits, assessments, inspections, and accreditation activities.
• Monitor internal and external quality control activities, including proficiency testing, equipment calibration, and quality performance monitoring.
• Identify non-conformities, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Establish and monitor quality indicators and key performance indicators (KPIs), prepare quality reports, and recommend improvements to laboratory processes.
• Maintain effective document control and ensure all quality-related records, procedures, and documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Coordinate staff training, competency assessments, and awareness programmes related to quality standards, laboratory procedures, and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with laboratory management and technical teams to promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and quality improvement initiatives and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
• Identify and assess risks affecting laboratory operations, testing accuracy, and patient safety, and implement appropriate risk mitigation measures.
• Support the maintenance of laboratory accreditation and ensure continued compliance with applicable standards.
• Prepare quality documentation and reports required for management reviews, regulatory inspections, and accreditation assessments.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Medical Laboratory Technology, Biomedical Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in a medical laboratory environment, preferably in quality assurance or quality management.
• Hands-on experience in core laboratory departments is essential.
• Experience in a molecular laboratory department will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), relevant ISO standards, and EIAC accreditation requirements.
• Good understanding of UAE healthcare regulatory requirements and medical laboratory accreditation processes.
• Practical experience in internal audits, external assessments, audits and inspections, quality control, proficiency testing, equipment calibration, and CAPA management.
• Mandatory: Relevant quality management or internal auditor certification.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with laboratory staff and management.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high standards of accuracy, compliance, and professionalism.

Preferred Skills and Additional Advantages

• Experience preparing medical laboratories for accreditation assessments, external audits, and regulatory inspections.
• Relevant experience with CAP (College of American Pathologists) accreditation will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of risk management, root cause analysis, quality indicators, and continuous quality improvement methodologies.
• Experience developing and reviewing SOPs, quality manuals, audit reports, and quality improvement plans.
• Ability to analyse quality data, identify improvement opportunities, and implement effective quality management practices.
