A technician is responsible for performing assigned after sales jobs, ensuring that they are carried out in accordance with the relevant service procedures, fixed right first time, in a timely manner.

Key Tasks:

· Exercise extreme care for customer vehicles, utilizing supplied protective coverings to avoid damage of the vehicle interior/exterior. Prior to work starting, inspect for unreported damage or personal articles, and advise the team leader or management of any abnormalities

· Review vehicle history of assigned vehicle, read and understand the customer complaint on the RO (repair order)

· Verify the nature of the customer complaint

· Diagnose and perform repairs using any manufacturer tooling or systems to ensure the correct repair method. Perform work according to target times to achieve productivity and quality standards target of the company (Fixed Right First Time)

· Perform VHC and secure approval from team leader for additional work and/or parts replacement, which may be required

· Providing quality services to customer vehicles in the areas of inspection, diagnosis, and repair, utilizing the expertise attained through training and certifications and/or years of automotive repair experience. Provide explanations as necessary repairs to employees in a courteous and friendly manner

· Maintain tools and equipment neatly and in good operating condition. Report loss, breakage, and faults to team leader who in turn will report to the workshop manager or after sales manager

· Ensure clock timing (on/off jobs – time punching) is accurate, and that the actual work performed is accurately recorded on the RO (as required by the company or manufacturer) and/or entered in the DMS system

· Ensure the cause and corrections are accurately recorded onto RO and within DMS, with any required supporting documentation

· Keep in continual contact with your team leader to give job status and timing updates, ensure ahead of time if job completion deadline cannot be achieved or any change in promise date and time, so the service advisor and customer can be updated

· Maintain control of replaced parts in accordance with company and manufacturer procedures (warranty control, bagging of parts if customer pay, core returns, scrap, etc.)

· Dispose of the waste as per governmental and company policies

· Make effective use of tools, special tools, and equipment to improve work quality and productivity

· Maintain thorough and current product knowledge and improve technical skills by utilizing supplied training and any other learning sources made available by company

· Maintain workplace organization and keep workplace safe whilst clean and tidy

· Use PPE/safety equipment provided by the company and notify the team leader immediately of any unsafe practices observed in the workshop

· Use the provided materials, tools, and workshop consumables effectively

· Check for manufacturer campaigns and liaise with team leader and warranty department to the ensure repair method and job card deadlines are met

· Get feedback from team leader and quality controller for any issues related to returning performed jobs (come backs), to ensure you/we make corrective measures to ensure it isn’t repeated

· Review any special cases with the team leader or engineer and obtains their approval

· Actively participate in toolbox talk

· Adhere to governmental and companies Health and Safety regulations

. Comply with all company policies and procedures including manufacturer policy and procedures, security, health, safety, quality, and environmental policies etc

· Give suggestions and work with workshop team to reduce nonvalue added work, enhance working culture/environment, and improve profitability

Knowledge, Qualifications & Skills required:

. Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in a similar automotive dealership technical role

. Technical certification/Diploma engineering

. Excellent understanding of vehicle functions and automotive spare parts

. Skilled automotive technical abilities inc. computer competency

. Excellent in verbal, read and written English communication
