Summary

Andersen is hiring a Technical Lead / Manager in Abu Dhabi for a project driving digital transformation and enhancing financial technology solutions for a leading institution.

The customer is a leading publicly listed financial services company in the Middle East, operating under strict regulatory supervision and combining a strong financial foundation with a modern trading infrastructure. The organization focuses on innovation, sustainable growth, and regional market leadership, acting as a key liquidity provider for major listed enterprises and supporting the stability of a national stock exchange. It also develops advanced mobile investment solutions and actively invests in social and healthcare initiatives as part of its corporate responsibility strategy.

The project is focused on supporting the digital transformation and technology initiatives of a leading financial institution. It aims to enhance financial services across areas, such as asset management, brokerage, lending, market operations, and analytics by leveraging modern solutions to improve efficiency and customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Building a new project from the ground up – from initial technical setup through to a running, maintainable system.
• Establishing engineering processes, standards, and ways of working for the team (development workflow, code quality, release/deployment practices, environment strategy).
• Recruiting, building, and managing a development team, including task allocation, mentoring, and day-to-day technical leadership.
• Defining and owning the technical architecture and technology choices for the project, in line with the company's back-office, core banking, fintech, and trading platform needs.
• Acting as the primary technical point of contact for the client, translating business needs into a technical delivery plan and keeping stakeholders informed of progress and risks.
• Ensuring the delivered system meets the reliability, security, and performance standards expected of a financial services / trading environment.

Requirements

• Experience as a Technical Lead / Technical Manager or in a similar role for 5+ years.
• Strong technical background with hands-on experience in back-office, core banking, fintech, or trading platform systems.
• Proven experience building software projects from scratch (greenfield delivery), not just maintaining existing systems.
• Experience establishing engineering processes (workflow, code quality, release practices) in a growing or newly formed team.
• Experience managing and leading development teams.
• Ability to work directly with client-side technical and business stakeholders.
• Level of English – Upper-Intermediate or above.

Desired skills

• Prior experience in the brokerage, capital markets, securities, or asset management sector.
• Experience with regulated financial services environments (compliance, security, and audit considerations).
• Experience in a UAE or GCC market context.
• Experience scaling an engineering team from a small initial group.
