About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, professional and passionate Swimming Teacher to join our coaching team. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality swimming lessons to swimmers of all ages and abilities while creating a safe, engaging and enjoyable learning environment.

As a Swimming Teacher, you will play an important role in helping swimmers build water confidence, develop strong technical foundations and progress through our Learn-to-Swim programme. You will be expected to deliver exceptional customer service, maintain the highest safety standards and contribute positively to the culture and reputation of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • ⁠ ⁠Deliver safe, enjoyable and high-quality swimming lessons to babies (where qualified), children, teenagers and adults.
  • ⁠ ⁠Teach swimmers of varying ages and abilities using the organisation’s teaching programme.
  • ⁠ ⁠Create a positive, encouraging and inclusive learning environment.
  • ⁠ ⁠Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of each swimmer.
  • ⁠ ⁠Monitor swimmer progress and complete regular assessments.
  • ⁠ ⁠Recommend swimmers for progression to the appropriate level.
  • ⁠ ⁠Build confidence while developing correct swimming technique and water safety skills.
  • ⁠ ⁠Communicate professionally with parents, providing regular feedback on swimmer progress.
  • ⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate attendance records and lesson documentation.
  • ⁠ ⁠Prepare and maintain teaching equipment before and after lessons.
  • ⁠ ⁠Follow all company policies, health and safety procedures and emergency action plans.
  • ⁠ ⁠Report incidents, accidents or safeguarding concerns promptly.
  • ⁠ ⁠Attend staff meetings, training sessions and professional development programmes.
  • ⁠ ⁠Represent the organisation professionally at all times.
  • Essential Requirements
  • ⁠ ⁠Recognised swimming teaching qualification (Swim England, STA, AUSTSWIM, ASCTA or equivalent).
  • ⁠ ⁠Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to employment).
  • ⁠ ⁠Previous experience teaching swimming lessons.
  • ⁠ ⁠Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • ⁠ ⁠Strong understanding of water safety.
  • ⁠ ⁠Professional, reliable and punctual.
  • ⁠ ⁠Ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
