Job Title- Steel Foreman

Job Summary

The Steel Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating all steel fabrication, installation, and fixing activities related to interior fit-out projects. The role involves managing steel workers, ensuring work is carried out according to approved shop drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements, while maintaining the project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily steel fabrication and installation activities at the project site.
• Coordinate the installation of steel structures, supports, frames, brackets, partitions, platforms, and other steel-related fit-out works.
• Read and interpret approved shop drawings, structural drawings, and technical details.
• Ensure accurate measurement, cutting, welding, drilling, grinding, and fixing of steel materials.
• Coordinate with site engineers, civil teams, MEP teams, ceiling teams, and other fit-out trades.
• Allocate daily tasks to steel workers, fabricators, and welders.
• Monitor work progress and ensure activities are completed within the project schedule.
• Ensure all steel works comply with approved drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Check materials, dimensions, levels, alignment, and installation quality.
• Ensure proper use of welding machines, cutting tools, and other equipment.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and ensure materials and tools are stored safely.
• Implement site safety procedures and ensure workers use appropriate PPE.
• Report daily progress, manpower requirements, material shortages, and site issues to the Site Engineer.
• Coordinate inspections and rectify any defective or incomplete work.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum 5–7 years of experience in steel fabrication and installation.
• Previous experience in interior fit-out or commercial construction projects.
• Good knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, cutting, and installation.
• Ability to read and understand shop drawings and technical drawings.
• Experience supervising steel fabricators, welders, and helpers.
• Knowledge of site safety procedures and quality standards.
• Ability to manage manpower and coordinate with multiple site teams.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
