Full job description

We are seeking a highly experienced and commercially minded Finance Manager / Financial Controller to join our growing car rental business in Dubai. This is a senior-level position for a Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional who can take full ownership of the company's financial operations, controls, compliance, profitability analysis, and business performance.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in the car rental, fleet management, leasing, automotive, transportation, or related industries and will play a key role in driving profitability, improving cash flow, strengthening financial controls, and supporting business growth.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting

  • Manage the complete accounting and finance function of the company.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure accuracy of all financial records and accounting entries.
  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, cash flow projections, and financial performance reports.
  • Provide strategic financial recommendations to senior management.

Accounts Receivable & Collections Management

  • Reconcile all customer invoices, rental agreements, receipts, and payments.
  • Monitor aging reports and outstanding receivables.
  • Ensure timely collection of customer payments and deposits.
  • Identify overdue accounts and coordinate recovery efforts.
  • Analyze collection performance and recommend improvements.
  • Reduce bad debts and improve cash flow.

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

  • Reconcile supplier invoices, vendor statements, and payment schedules.
  • Verify and approve payments in accordance with company policies.
  • Monitor outstanding liabilities and supplier balances.
  • Ensure timely payments while optimizing cash flow.
  • Negotiate favorable payment terms where appropriate.

Bank Reconciliation & Treasury

  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile all banking transactions, online payments, POS transactions, and payment gateways.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor company cash positions and liquidity.
  • Manage banking relationships and financing facilities.

Payroll, Incentives & Commission Management

  • Process monthly payroll accurately and on time.
  • Calculate salaries, commissions, incentives, bonuses, overtime, and deductions.
  • Review and improve incentive structures to ensure profitability and performance alignment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and UAE labor requirements.

VAT & Corporate Tax Compliance

  • Prepare and submit VAT returns accurately and on time.
  • Manage Corporate Tax calculations, filings, and compliance requirements.
  • Maintain complete supporting documentation and records.
  • Liaise with tax consultants, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Ensure compliance with all UAE tax regulations.
  • Keep management updated on tax changes and financial implications.

Petty Cash & Expense Control

  • Manage petty cash and reimbursement processes.
  • Conduct periodic audits of expenses and cash transactions.
  • Monitor operational expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Implement controls to prevent financial leakage and unauthorized expenditures.

Financial Controls & Internal Audit

  • Establish and maintain robust financial controls and procedures.
  • Conduct regular audits and reconciliations across all departments.
  • Identify fraud risks, revenue leakages, and process weaknesses.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Improve overall financial governance and accountability.

Car Rental Revenue Reconciliation

  • Reconcile all rental revenues and operational income streams including:
  • New rental revenues
  • Rental renewals and extensions
  • Security deposits
  • Damage charges
  • Insurance excess recoveries
  • Salik charges
  • Traffic fines
  • Fuel charges
  • Delivery and collection fees
  • Additional service charges
  • Other non-rental revenues
  • Ensure all revenues are correctly billed, collected, recorded, and reconciled.

Business Performance & Profitability Analysis

  • Analyze profitability by vehicle, fleet category, branch, and customer segment.
  • Monitor fleet utilization and revenue performance.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and reduce operating costs.
  • Recommend pricing strategies and operational improvements.
  • Develop KPI dashboards and performance reports for management.
  • Support business expansion and growth initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Experience

  • Minimum 5–10 years of accounting and finance experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Previous experience in Car Rental, Fleet Management, Vehicle Leasing, Automotive, Transportation, or Mobility Services is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of UAE VAT and Corporate Tax regulations.

Technical Skills

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Strong financial modeling and reporting capabilities.
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and high-volume transactions.
  • Ability to manage large datasets and financial analysis.
