We're looking for a technically capable QA / Software Tester to own quality for a multi-tenant SaaS platform. This is more than clicking through screens: a lot of what matters lives below the UI — in the APIs, the real-time connections, and the database — and we need someone who can test there with confidence. You'll plan the testing, run it across every layer of the system, and be the person who makes the call on whether a release is actually ready to ship.

This is a hands-on, manual-first role for someone with real QA discipline who is comfortable getting into the API and the data, not just the interface.

Responsibilities

- Turn product requirements into clear test plans and test cases, and own the regression suite as the product changes.

- Run functional, exploratory, and regression testing across the platform's web and application surfaces.

- Test at the **API and WebSocket level**, not only the UI — validate endpoints, real-time message flows, and behavior under load.

- Verify data correctness directly in the **database with SQL** — checking that stored data matches what the application reports and holds its integrity.

- Validate that authentication, session handling, and access controls behave as specified — security-aware functional testing as part of normal coverage.

- Test for performance and responsiveness, and flag regressions before they reach a release.

- Identify, document, and track defects with clear, reproducible bug reports in an issue tracker (e.g. Jira), and work with the development team to prioritize and verify fixes.

- Help harden the product ahead of key releases.

Requirements and skills

- Proven experience as a QA / Software Tester on web or SaaS products; experience with multi-tenant systems is valued.

- Strong hands-on proficiency with **API testing tools** (e.g. Postman or a similar REST client) and **SQL** — these are everyday tools for you, not occasional ones.

- Comfortable with **real-time / WebSocket-based systems** and **security-aware functional testing** (authentication, sessions, access control).

- Strong test-planning and regression discipline, with experience using bug-tracking and test-management tools (e.g. Jira, TestRail, Zephyr).

- Mid-to-senior level: you can operate at the API and data layer with light scaffolding and work independently against a non-trivial system.

- Methodical and detail-oriented — you reproduce before you report, and you track what's tested and what isn't.

- Strong written communication; you work well in an asynchronous, distributed team and set your own test coverage rather than waiting to be told what to test.

Nice to have

- Test automation or scripting for regression — we're manual-first today, but the ability to automate the repetitive checks as the product grows is a real plus.

- Deeper security-testing exposure beyond functional verification.

- Experience testing real-time or streaming systems.

- ISTQB or a comparable QA certification.

Engagement

- 3 Month Project Period, Renewable monthly upon mutual fit. Strong likelihood of extension.

- Full-time engagement (~40 hrs/week).

- Remote-first, with reasonable overlap with the team's working hours.

- Compensation: competitive, based on experience.
