Position Overview

Dogwalk is seeking a responsible, energetic, and experienced Dog Handler to join our Operations team. The successful candidate will supervise group play sessions, ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs, maintain high cleanliness standards, and provide excellent daily care while working closely with the rest of the team.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dogs during daycare and boarding while ensuring their safety at all times.
• Monitor dog behavior and manage playgroups based on size, temperament, and energy levels.
• Recognize signs of stress, illness, injury, or aggression and immediately report concerns to the management team.
• Safely separate dogs when necessary using low-stress handling techniques.
• Feed dogs according to individual schedules and dietary instructions.
• Administer medications as instructed by management or the veterinary team.
• Walk, exercise, and enrich dogs through structured play and mental stimulation.
• Maintain clean and sanitized play areas, kennels, feeding stations, and equipment.
• Assist with check-ins and check-outs when required.
• Support transportation, grooming, hydrotherapy, or other departments when needed.
• Ensure water bowls are clean and filled throughout the day.
• Monitor boarding dogs overnight or during assigned shifts when required.
• Report maintenance, safety, or facility issues immediately.
• Follow all company health, safety, hygiene, and animal welfare procedures.
• Work closely with the Operations team to ensure smooth daily operations.

Ideal Candidate

• A genuine passion for dogs and animal welfare is essential.
• Minimum 1 year of professional experience working with dogs in a daycare, boarding facility, kennel, veterinary clinic, shelter, grooming salon, or similar environment is preferred.
• Confident handling dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
• Good understanding of canine body language and behavior.
• Physically fit and comfortable standing, walking, lifting, and working in an active environment.
• Calm, patient, and able to remain composed in challenging situations.
• Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Able to follow instructions and maintain high standards of cleanliness.
• Basic English communication skills are required.
