We are looking to hire an experienced Operations Manager for our Port Agency in Dubai, covering the whole UAE.

Responsibilities / Job Description:

Overseeing all operations of the agency, such as the below but not limited to:

- Managing / Building / Maintaining the Operations Team

- Managing / Developing / Maintaining relationships & contracts with Suppliers/Vendors/Authorities/Clients

- all port formalities (arrange pilotage, tugs, port clearance, etc.) for our vessels

- all immigration formalities for sign on and sign off crew

- Ensure applications for VISAs and NOC are submitted timely

- Arrangements of hotel accommodation and transportation of crew as well as medical arrangements

- Arrangement of cargo operations, berth bookings, etc.

- Follow up on latest regulations of the authorities

- Coordinate with suppliers, surveyors, technicians, repairers, etc.

- Ensure instructions to all parties are communicated timely and effectively

- Manage clearance and delivery of ship spares

- Update and process information and documentation timely

- Update shipowners on the operational activities of their vessels

- Attendance on board vessels whenever necessary

Process Improvement: Identify, develop, and implement strategies to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.

Performance Metrics: Establish, monitor, and analyze KPIs (e.g., productivity rates, quality standards) to measure success.

Team Leadership: Lead, train, and mentor staff, ensuring a positive work environment and high performance.

Perform ad hoc duties as required by the management

Basic Requirements:

Preferred: 5 years of experience in port agency operations or similar position in a shipping company (preferably with experience of handling container vessels, bulk carriers & offshore vessels) in the UAE.

Leadership skills

Good understanding of the maritime industry

Good knowledge of Port and Immigration regulations

Computer skills

Ability to work both independently and as team member in a fast paced environment round the clock (able to work at odd hours/days)

Strong administrative, planning, implementation and communication skills

Problem solving skills and positive attitude

Detail oriented with good command of communication skills

Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines through good time management and allocation of priorities

Business level spoken and written English
