Project title: Unravelling the Proteomic Signatures of Gut Dysbiosis-Induced Neuroplasticity Changes Institution: United Arab Emirates University / Sunway University Joint Research Grant Start date: September 2026 Duration: 2 years Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position on a funded UAEU–Sunway collaborative project investigating how gut microbiota dysbiosis alters brain proteomic signatures related to neuroplasticity, neuroinflammation, apoptosis, and synaptic function. The project will use a murine model of antibiotic-induced gut dysbiosis, 16S rRNA sequencing, region-specific brain tissue collection, and mass spectrometry-based proteomic profiling. Essential qualifications • MSc or PhD in Neuroscience, Pharmacolgy, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, or a related field • Strong laboratory skills and ability to work independently • Good organisational, communication, and documentation skills

Minimum Qualification

Proteomics Next-generation sequencing, especially 16S rRNA sequencing or microbiome analysis Neuroscience, animal models, brain dissection, and histology Bioinformatics, pathway analysis, or multi-omics data integration

Preferred Qualification
