Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Technical Manager to lead and manage our technical services team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily technical operations, allocating jobs, managing technicians, maintaining service quality, resolving technical issues, and ensuring that all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent leadership skills, and a customer-focused approach, with the ability to manage a busy maintenance operation in Dubai.

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical Operations and Job Management

• Oversee daily technical operations, including AC servicing and repairs, plumbing, electrical works, carpentry, painting, and general property maintenance.
• Review incoming job requests, assess technical requirements, and allocate jobs to the appropriate technicians.
• Ensure bookings and service requests are completed on schedule and within agreed timeframes.
• Provide technical guidance and support to technicians for complex jobs and troubleshooting.
• Monitor job progress and ensure accurate completion reports and documentation.

2. Team Leadership and Staff Management

• Lead, supervise, and support the technical team, including technicians, handymen, and drivers where applicable.
• Prepare work schedules and coordinate daily assignments to ensure efficient resource utilisation.
• Monitor attendance, punctuality, productivity, and overall team performance.
• Identify training needs and support the continuous development of technical staff.
• Address operational challenges and ensure employees follow company procedures and professional standards.

3. Quality Control and Health & Safety

• Ensure all maintenance and repair work meets company quality standards and customer expectations.
• Conduct or arrange site inspections and quality checks where required.
• Ensure technicians follow appropriate health and safety procedures and use tools and equipment correctly.
• Investigate recurring technical issues, customer complaints, and rework, implementing corrective actions.
• Ensure tools, equipment, materials, and vehicles are maintained appropriately.

4. Customer Service and Technical Support

• Provide technical advice, estimates, and practical solutions to customers where required.
• Handle escalated technical complaints and coordinate timely resolutions.
• Ensure technicians communicate professionally with customers and maintain a high standard of conduct at client properties.
• Work closely with the Customer Experience and Operations teams to manage bookings, changes, delays, and urgent requests.

5. Cost Control and Procurement

• Review job requirements and ensure the appropriate allocation of materials, tools, manpower, and other resources.
• Monitor material usage, labour costs, repeat visits, and operational expenses.
• Coordinate with suppliers and procurement teams to obtain materials and equipment when needed.
• Review technical quotations and estimates for accuracy and profitability.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce unnecessary costs, and minimise repeat work.

6. Reporting and Continuous Improvement

• Monitor team productivity, job completion rates, customer feedback, and service quality.
• Prepare regular operational reports for management.
• Maintain accurate job records, service reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Use job management software and digital tools to track assignments, progress, and performance.
• Recommend improvements to operational procedures, service delivery, and team performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Facilities Management, or a related technical field; relevant technical qualifications and experience will also be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in technical maintenance, facilities management, or property maintenance, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Proven experience managing a team of technicians and coordinating multiple service jobs.
• Strong working knowledge of at least two or more of the following: HVAC/AC, plumbing, electrical maintenance, carpentry, painting, and general handyman services.
• Experience in residential and commercial maintenance operations.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements and maintenance quality standards.
• UAE experience is strongly preferred.
• A valid UAE driving licence is an advantage, particularly for site visits and field supervision.
