The role is responsible of identifying and implementing efficiency improvement, quality complaints reduction, Process enhancement and automation opportunities. You will focus on creating opportunities for various Designing and Prepress aspects, such as resource optimization, cost reduction, Innovation and technological advancement, efficiency improvement, customer engagement, quality control & assurance, market research and trends, team’s building and process automation. Role is focused on various strategic aspects of the business, contributing to its success and competitiveness This position is a blend of technical expertise, creative vision, and effective leadership to drive success.

The position is responsible for resource planning and optimization, review and establish plans and strategies to uplift the department, training and mentoring the team, product development & Innovation support, implementing and directing the production activities of the company in a designated area to achieve the department objectives. Leading the team by establishing goals and monitoring the growth and progress reports which is essential in determining potentials of the team in designing and prepress improvement. You should develop techniques to address the resource optimization targets, quality improvement and arrange technical trainings, expand to maintain the targeted objectives in order to uplift the day-to-day operation of the department.

Including but not limited to resource planning and acquiring, SOPs updating, efficiency improvement, cost reduction, quality improvement, technology advancement & automation, technical presentation, product compliance and reporting to the management.

· Lead, initiate, plan and execute that ensures optimization of resources and minimize costs.

· Ensure attainment of business objectives and designs schedules while ensuring product standards that will exceed our customers’ expectations.

· Assist in developing and implementing successful design strategies, outlining how the design team will create deliverables and implement them for the project/job order.

· Lead and manage a team of designers, evaluating individual design’s deliverables and overall team performance. Direct, coach, and evaluate assigned employees and lead job orders execution to ensure accurate, on time completion, and in keeping with the Company’s cost and quality objectives.

· Deliver critical feedback where needed and encourage team members throughout the duration of a job order/project.

· Collaborate with other teams to ensure successful completion of job order. Work closely with product development, sales, customers service and marketing teams, to address unique product’s looks and presentation to customers.

· Present pros and cos of each design to sales, customer service, production and clients with expected outcomes.

· Evaluate the performance of implemented designs, track and monitor feedback. Involves filtering through customer surveys and responses to focus groups to create an overall picture of how well the design performed.

· Participate in customer’s meetings related to design and provide continual input to optimize design and minimize futile work.

· Lead the developing of Design Delivery Schedule along with team, sales, customer service, clients, production and supply chain.

· Ensure projects and finished graphics are accurate and precise, manage and maintain record keeping of original artwork files of all job orders/projects.

· Ensure revision control processes are robust and monitor those processes regularly for compliance to the Majan’s revision control policy.

· Assist and guide in troubleshooting color management and other prepress challenges.

· Investigate Quality Concerns related to Design Center for assigned job orders and implement corrective actions. Periodically audit procedures and corrective actions for compliance.

· Review established KPI’s with design team on a monthly basis to identify areas for potential improvement.

· Work closely with business partners (Esko, Plato, Pilot Viewer, 3D, Adobe etc.) to implement best practices and ensure that Majan keeps pace with the advancements in the industry.

· Recommend, select and implement designing software to improve productivity and quality.

· Review, draft and enforce standards for file transmission, proofing, equipment calibration, and other tasks.

· Comply with all certification requirements including ISO, OHSAS, HACCP, FSC, PEFC, GMP, IMS etc. as needed.

· Establish group and individual accountabilities throughout assigned departments for problem solving and cost reduction, both on a permanent and ad-hoc basis, considering operational needs. Encourage use of new techniques and focus on fact-based problem solving.

· Review and updates the SOPs to improve the efficiency and minimize the quality issues.

· Enhance manpower utilization within departments and processes to ensure succession planning and schedule stability that allows for maximum return on efficiencies.

· Manage spending against budget and in relation to changes in production volume. Coordinate with finance team in planning budget and provide all costings (accurate, timely and verifiable) and conduct variance analysis to check the budget variances.

· Ensure full personal and team commitment to company polices and visions by hard work and cooperation with all company staff, suppliers, customers’ contractors or agents.

· Other tasks as assigned by the Reporting Authority from time to time.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & PREFERENCES

· BS/BA as basic education, Degree in Graphic Design/Fine Arts or its equivalent.

· 10-15 years work experience in Offset Printing of mono cartons, production house, graphic designs and illustrations and similar capacity or role in a communication arts environment.

· Must have an extensive background in software design or hardware and graphic design related.

· With a strong technical background in handling emerging technologies in new media.

· Software applications;

o Application / Hands on : Illustrator (2019 latest version)

o Adobe Photoshop

o Adobe Acrobat PDF

o Esko Viewer & Esko 3D Viewer

o Must have an extensive background in graphic design related software and hardware.

· Understanding of Pre-press software (additional preference)

o Plato – for multi – ups

o Esko for trapping & Checking

o Art Pro (old Version) for checking old files

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED14,000.00 per month
