Job Overview

J Pizza House in Downtown Dubai is looking for an experienced and reliable Pizza Baker / Pizzaiolo to join our kitchen team.

The successful candidate must have strong practical knowledge of pizza dough preparation, fermentation, topping preparation, oven operation and baking. Experience preparing different pizza styles will be highly preferred.

We are looking for someone who can consistently produce high-quality pizzas, work efficiently during busy service periods and maintain excellent hygiene and organization in the pizza section.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake high-quality pizzas according to restaurant recipes and standards.
• Prepare pizza dough, including mixing, kneading, portioning, proofing and fermentation.
• Monitor dough temperature, texture, hydration and fermentation time.
• Prepare pizza sauces, cheese, toppings and other ingredients.
• Stretch and shape pizza dough properly and consistently.
• Operate pizza ovens safely and maintain the correct baking temperature.
• Ensure pizzas have consistent size, flavour, texture, crust and presentation.
• Follow restaurant portion-control and recipe standards.
• Organize and prepare the pizza station before service.
• Complete daily preparation lists and ensure sufficient ingredients are available.
• Handle dine-in and delivery orders accurately and efficiently.
• Work quickly during busy service periods without compromising quality.
• Check ingredient freshness and report low stock to the Head Chef.
• Store, label and rotate ingredients correctly.
• Minimize food waste and use ingredients responsibly.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the pizza station.
• Clean pizza ovens, preparation surfaces, equipment and utensils.
• Follow food-safety procedures and Dubai Municipality requirements.
• Work closely with chefs, kitchen assistants and restaurant employees.
• Assist with new pizza recipes, promotions and seasonal menu items when required.

Required Pizza Experience

Candidates should have practical knowledge of several pizza styles, such as:

• Classic Italian pizza
• Neapolitan-style pizza
• Roman-style pizza
• New York-style pizza
• Thin-crust pizza
• Artisan pizza
• Pan pizza
• Delivery-focused pizza

Knowledge of long fermentation, cold fermentation, dough hydration and different flour types will be an advantage.

Experience using electric, gas, deck or wood-fired pizza ovens will also be preferred.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of professional pizza-making or pizza-baking experience.
• Previous experience as a Pizza Baker, Pizza Maker, Pizzaiolo or Pizza Chef.
• Strong knowledge of pizza dough preparation and fermentation.
• Ability to stretch, top and bake pizzas consistently.
• Experience producing different pizza styles.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy restaurant operations.
• Strong attention to food quality, presentation and portion control.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and kitchen-safety procedures.
• Ability to follow recipes and instructions from the Head Chef.
• Good teamwork, communication and time-management skills.
• UAE or Dubai restaurant experience is preferred.
• Must be disciplined, reliable, clean and professional.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
