We are looking for an experienced Fruit & Vegetable and FMCG Buyer to manage sourcing and purchasing activities for fresh produce and FMCG products. The role will be responsible for identifying reliable suppliers, negotiating competitive prices and commercial terms, ensuring product quality and availability, and maintaining optimum inventory levels to support business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and purchase fresh fruits, vegetables, FMCG and related food products from local and international suppliers.
• Identify, evaluate and develop a reliable supplier network based on quality, price, availability and service levels.
• Obtain quotations, compare offers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times and other commercial conditions.
• Monitor daily market prices and fluctuations for fruits, vegetables and key FMCG categories.
• Plan purchases based on sales forecasts, customer requirements, stock levels and market demand.
• Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, Operations and Finance teams to ensure timely availability of products.
• Ensure purchased products meet agreed quality, specifications, packaging and shelf-life requirements.
• Monitor supplier performance, including quality, delivery timelines, shortages, damages and discrepancies.
• Negotiate and manage supplier promotions, discounts, rebates and other commercial arrangements.
• Maintain accurate purchase records, supplier databases, price lists and product information.
• Coordinate with logistics and suppliers regarding delivery schedules, import requirements and documentation, where applicable.
• Monitor inventory levels and identify slow-moving, fast-moving and seasonal products to optimize purchasing decisions.
• Develop alternative suppliers and sourcing channels to minimize supply risks.
• Handle supplier negotiations and resolve purchasing-related issues, shortages, quality concerns and delivery discrepancies.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, approved budgets and applicable UAE food and trading requirements.
• Prepare regular reports on purchases, pricing, supplier performance, savings and market trends.

Fresh Produce-Specific Responsibilities

• Maintain strong relationships with fruit and vegetable suppliers, wholesalers, farms, importers and distributors.
• Understand seasonal availability, market conditions, product grades and quality specifications.
• Conduct or coordinate quality checks for freshness, appearance, size, ripeness and shelf life.
• Monitor wastage, rejection and quality-related losses and work with suppliers to reduce them.
• Source products based on customer specifications and required volumes.

FMCG-Specific Responsibilities

• Source and manage FMCG categories such as grocery, packaged foods, beverages, household and other fast-moving consumer products, depending on the company's portfolio.
• Negotiate distributor/principal pricing, promotions, MOQs, credit terms and volume-based discounts.
• Monitor product expiry dates, shelf life and stock rotation.
• Identify new products and commercially viable brands/categories based on market demand.

Requirements

• 3–5+ years of relevant purchasing/buying experience in fruits & vegetables, FMCG, food trading or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of the Dubai/UAE food and FMCG market and supplier network.
• Established relationships with local suppliers, wholesalers, importers or distributors will be an advantage.
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills.
• Good understanding of procurement, inventory management and supplier management.
• Ability to analyse prices, margins, demand and market trends.
• Strong communication and relationship-management skills.

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
