Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled Mould Maker / Moulder to join our composite manufacturing team. We require a specialist who can build, repair, and maintain the molds themselves.

You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of a mold from pattern construction and plug fabrication to final surface finishing and repair. You will work with materials like carbon fiber, fiberglass and tooling resins to create precise tooling for marine, aerospace and industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Mold Fabrication & Pattern Making

• Construct patterns, plugs, and molds (female and male tools) using wood, foam, composites, and tooling resins.
• Perform hand lay-up, spray-up, and infusion processes specifically for tooling (not just production parts).
• Apply gelcoat and surface coats to molds to ensure high-quality part release and surface finish.
• Interpret engineering drawings and 3D models to create tools that meet aerospace tolerances.
• Cut, kit, and prepare composite materials (carbon fiber, fiberglass, honeycomb cores) specifically for mold construction.

2. Mold Finishing & Machining

• Trim, grind, sand, and polish mold surfaces to a high-quality finish (mirror finish where required).
• Operate CNC machines (routers/mills) for trimming and machining mold materials.
• Use hand tools for precision fitting and finishing of tooling surfaces.

3. Curing & Processing

• Operate ovens and curing equipment to cure tooling materials.
• Monitor curing cycles (temperature, pressure, vacuum) in line with tooling specifications.
• Ensure proper debulking and consolidation of tooling laminates to prevent distortion.

4. Repair & Maintenance

• Perform composite repairs on damaged molds (scarfing, patching, bonding).
• Maintain and repair production molds, ensuring they are clean and in proper state before production runs.
• Apply release agents and sealers to prepare molds for production.

5. Inspection & Quality Control

• Conduct in-process inspections of molds to identify defects such as pinholes, voids, porosity, or delamination.
• Support FAI (First Article Inspection) and documentation for new tooling.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 / ISO 9001 standards.

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Complete production records, traceability logs, and quality documentation.
• Report non-conformities and support root cause analysis for mold failures.

7. Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow HSE policies for handling chemicals, resins, and fibers.
• Ensure proper PPE usage and cleanroom discipline.

Pay: Up to AED6,000.00 per month
