Medical Research Assistant jobs

The Research Institute for Medical and Health Sciences (RIMHS) is currently recruiting a research assistant to join the improving healthcare and medicine use research group and contribute to its research activities in health services research and practice-based research. We are looking to appoint a suitable candidate with training, experience and achievements in public health and health services research.
The successful candidate will work in a multidisciplinary research environment consisting of health services, public health, and pharmacy practice researchers.

The successful candidate will help plan, support, coordinate, and contribute to health services and practice-based research projects.

The responsibilities of the research assistant will include and will not be limited to:

• Assist in project management.
• Collaborate and work effectively with faculty, staff and project coordinators to ensure the timely delivery of key project milestones and high-quality outputs.
• Prepare drafts of research ethical approvals
• Prepare drafts of research plans for grant applications
• Prepare drafts of research reports for publication
• Contribute to field surveys and interview guides and administration of surveys and qualitative data collection (i.e., interviews, focus groups)
• Develop, modify and update data collection tools and software for different projects.
• Lead on the data management and cleaning of datasets.
• Analyze cross-sectional data under faculty supervision.
• Produce statistical outputs, tables and visualizations of findings.
• Develop and deliver both written and visual outputs that are appropriate for different stakeholders.
• Write and draft scientific reports
• Assist in the writing of academic manuscripts after data collection

The ideal candidate should have a master’s level degree in public health, pharmacy practice, or a closely related health field.
