Job Summary

IIQAF Group is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Medical Records Officer to join our hospital operations team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate patient medical records, managing health information, ensuring confidentiality, supporting clinical and administrative teams, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in medical records management, health information management, hospital administration, patient records, electronic medical records (EMR), electronic health records (EHR), healthcare documentation, and medical administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain, organize, and manage patient medical records in physical and electronic formats.
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of patient health information.
  • Update and maintain Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
  • Retrieve, file, archive, and securely store patient records in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Verify patient information and medical documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nurses, laboratory staff, radiology departments, and healthcare professionals regarding medical records.
  • Process patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and record updates.
  • Ensure timely availability of patient records for authorized healthcare providers.
  • Prepare medical records for audits, inspections, insurance claims, and legal documentation when required.
  • Monitor documentation quality and identify incomplete or missing patient information.
  • Support medical coding, billing, and insurance documentation processes.
  • Generate healthcare reports, statistics, and record management reports.
  • Maintain document retention schedules and record disposal procedures in compliance with regulations.
  • Protect patient confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy standards.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives for medical records and health information management.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Health Information Management, Medical Records Administration, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience as a Medical Records Officer, Health Information Officer, Medical Records Clerk, Health Information Technician, Medical Administrator, Medical Documentation Officer, Medical Records Coordinator, or Hospital Administrator is preferred.
  • Experience in hospitals, clinics, medical centers, specialty healthcare facilities, or diagnostic laboratories is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Electronic Health Records (EHR), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and healthcare documentation.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, medical terminology, insurance documentation, and patient confidentiality requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and record management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with exceptional accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and integrity.
