Biomedical Engineer – Healthcare Experience

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Biomedical Engineer with healthcare experience to join our medical center. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, safety, and operational readiness of medical and aesthetic equipment.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with healthcare equipment, strong technical troubleshooting skills, and the ability to coordinate effectively with clinical, medical, and administrative teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the installation, maintenance, inspection, calibration, and repair of medical and aesthetic equipment.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance according to manufacturer recommendations and facility requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment faults, alarms, technical errors, and operational issues.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, servicing, repairs, calibration, and breakdowns.
• Coordinate with authorized suppliers, manufacturers, and external service providers for equipment servicing and repairs.
• Monitor the performance and safety of medical devices and ensure equipment is maintained in safe working condition.
• Conduct regular inspections of medical and aesthetic devices and identify potential technical issues before breakdown.
• Support clinical teams with equipment operation, technical guidance, and basic troubleshooting.
• Ensure biomedical equipment is properly installed, tested, labelled, and maintained.
• Maintain an updated inventory and asset register for all biomedical and medical equipment.
• Assist with equipment procurement by providing technical specifications and evaluating equipment requirements.
• Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
• Investigate equipment-related incidents and prepare technical/maintenance reports when required.
• Maintain service contracts, warranty records, maintenance schedules, and equipment documentation.
• Provide training or basic technical orientation to staff on the safe use and handling of equipment.
• Respond promptly to urgent equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime.
• Perform any other biomedical engineering duties assigned by management.

Preferred Healthcare Equipment Experience

Experience with medical, aesthetic, dermatology, laser, diagnostic, or clinical equipment will be highly preferred.

Experience with equipment such as laser systems, aesthetic devices, RF devices, ultrasound-based equipment, body-contouring devices, diagnostic equipment, sterilization equipment, patient monitoring equipment, and other medical devices is an advantage.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering, or a related field.
• Previous experience in a hospital, medical center, clinic, healthcare facility, or medical equipment company is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of biomedical equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Hands-on experience with medical or aesthetic equipment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, calibration, electrical/electronic systems, and equipment safety.
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, equipment specifications, and service reports.
• Good documentation and reporting skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to work independently as well as coordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, technicians, and management.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to equipment safety.
• UAE healthcare experience is preferred.
