Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor (Shipyard)

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee mechanical activities in our shipyard. The role involves supervising maintenance, repair, and installation of mechanical systems onboard vessels and within the yard, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise mechanical works including engines, pumps, valves, piping, and hydraulic systems

Lead and coordinate a team of technicians and fitters

Plan daily work activities and allocate tasks effectively

Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and company procedures

Review technical drawings and job specifications

Monitor project progress and report status to management

Troubleshoot mechanical issues and provide technical guidance

Ensure proper use of tools, equipment, and materials

Maintain records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor in a shipyard or marine industry

Strong knowledge of marine mechanical systems and equipment

Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manuals

Leadership and team management skills

Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities

Knowledge of safety standards and procedures in shipyard operations

Qualifications:

Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field

Relevant certifications or trade qualifications preferred
