Senior Lab Chemist – Job Description

• Conduct chemical, physical, and microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and water samples.
• Ensure all testing is performed according to SOPs, GMP, GLP, and quality standards.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (HPLC, GC, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, pH meter, Viscometer, etc.).
• Review and approve analytical results, COAs, and laboratory documentation.
• Investigate out-of-specification (OOS), out-of-trend (OOT), and laboratory deviations.
• Prepare and standardize reagents, solutions, and reference standards.
• Support method validation, verification, and stability studies.
• Train and supervise junior chemists and laboratory technicians.
• Coordinate with QA, Production, Warehouse, and R&D to resolve quality-related issues.
• Maintain laboratory safety, housekeeping, and compliance with ISO/GMP requirements.
• Participate in internal and external audits and implement corrective actions (CAPA).
• Ensure timely release of materials and finished products by completing testing within required timelines.
