Role Description

This is a full-time role and the Lab Technician will be responsible for performing laboratory tests, handling patient samples, supporting diagnostic procedures, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting. The role involves maintaining laboratory standards, ensuring quality control, and adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Operations & Testing

  • Collect, label, and process patient samples (blood, urine, swabs, etc.).
  • Perform routine laboratory tests and assist in specialized diagnostic procedures.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory equipment and analyzers.
  • Ensure accuracy, reliability, and timely reporting of test results.

Sample Handling & Safety

  • Follow proper sample collection, handling, and storage procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with infection control and laboratory safety protocols.
  • Dispose of biohazard materials according to DHA guidelines.

Quality Control & Maintenance

  • Perform regular quality checks and calibration of laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory.
  • Report equipment malfunctions or discrepancies promptly.

Documentation & Coordination

  • Maintain accurate and confidential laboratory records and reports.
  • Enter and update data in laboratory information systems.
  • Coordinate with doctors, nurses, and other departments for timely investigations.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock control of lab supplies.

Insurance & Compliance

  • Support in insurance-related laboratory requirements when needed.
  • Ensure adherence to DHA regulations, clinic policies, and ISO/EIAC standards.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and mandatory trainings.

Requirements & Additional Notes

  • DHA Licensed / Eligibility Letter (Mandatory)
  • 2–3 years of experience in a clinic or hospital laboratory
  • Experience with ISO standards and EIAC accreditation requirements (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, equipment, and safety protocols
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Willing to work with all departments when needed
  • Supportive and professional environment to learn and grow
