Full job description

  • Manage day-to-day laboratory operations for QC testing of raw materials, base oils, additives, and finished lubricant products
  • Ensure all incoming raw materials (base oils, additives) are tested and approved before use in production
  • Supervise physical and chemical testing — viscosity, viscosity index, TBN/TAN, flash point, pour point, water content, density, elemental analysis, etc. — as per ASTM/ISO/IP standards
  • Review, approve, and issue Certificates of Analysis (CoA) for finished products before dispatch
  • Ensure blended products meet formulation specifications and customer requirements
  • Investigate and resolve off-spec batches, customer complaints, and quality non-conformances (root cause analysis & corrective actions)
  • Maintain calibration, validation, and preventive maintenance schedule of all lab instruments
  • Maintain proper documentation, retained samples, and traceability records in line with ISO 9001 / ISO 17025 (if certified)
  • Support formulation/blending team and R&D in new product development and reformulation trials
  • Coordinate with Production, Procurement, and Sales/Technical Service departments on quality matters
  • Ensure lab safety, proper chemical handling, and HSE compliance within the laboratory
  • Train, and supervise lab chemists/technicians; conduct performance reviews
  • Manage lab budget, consumables, and reagent inventory
  • Stay updated with industry standards, new testing technologies, and regulatory requirements
