Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Product Design & Development Engineer to lead the end-to-end design, simulation, prototyping, and optimization of our next-generation water pump portfolios and packaged pumping systems. In this role, you will translate hydraulic specifications and customer requirements into robust, manufacturable, and high-efficiency fluid-handling products. You will oversee the full product development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with international engineering standards while driving component standardization and cost-reduction initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Design & 3D Modeling

• Conceptualize, design, and develop components for water pumps (e.g., impellers, casings, shafts, mechanical seals, and bearing housings) and prefabricated packaged pumping systems.
• Create highly detailed 3D models and precise 2D manufacturing drawings using advanced CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, or Siemens NX).
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and perform stack-up tolerance analyses to ensure proper fit, function, and seamless assembly in production.
• Drive component standardization across product lines to minimize inventory complexity and optimize production costs.

2. Engineering Analysis & Simulation

• Perform structural, thermal, and fluid flow calculations to validate design performance before physical prototyping.
• Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and stress simulations to evaluate the durability, structural integrity, and vibration traits of pump assemblies under operational pressure.

3. Prototyping, Testing & Product Validation

• Coordinate the fabrication of prototype pumps and test components.
• Design testing protocols and support engineering technicians during assembly, performance testing, and hydrostatic pressure testing.
• Lead failure analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and troubleshooting activities for prototype failures or warranty issues, implementing permanent engineering design fixes.

4. Lifecycle Documentation & Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Establish and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Bills of Materials (BOM), Engineering Change Notices (ECN), Design Reports, and Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
• Collaborate with Procurement, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing teams to review production plans, material selection, and commercial grade dedication.
• Interface directly with global suppliers and customers to clarify technical specifications, resolve design bottlenecks, and support field installation or vehicle fitment trials.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Mechanics, or a closely related engineering field.
• Experience: 3 to 7+ years of dedicated experience in the mechanical design and development of centrifugal, positive displacement, or industrial water pumps.
• Software Mastery: Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Siemens NX, or Inventor) and PLM/Teamcenter data management.
• Engineering Standards: Solid working knowledge of global pump design codes, standards, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Hydraulic Institute (HI), API 610, ASME Section VIII, ISO, or NFPA 20 for fire pumps).
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Deep understanding of metal casting, precision machining, structural steel fabrication, and material selection (e.g., stainless steel, cast iron, bronze) optimized for fluid handling and corrosion resistance.

Pay: AED10,000.00 - AED15,000.00 per month
