Medical Insurance Coordinator – Job DescriptionJob Summary

The Medical Insurance Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of medical insurance processes, including patient eligibility verification, pre-authorizations, claim submissions, resubmissions, reconciliations, and communication with insurance companies. The role ensures accurate billing, timely claim processing, and compliance with UAE insurance regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Verify patients' insurance eligibility and benefits.
  • Obtain pre-authorizations and approvals from insurance providers.
  • Ensure accurate coding and billing according to insurance guidelines.
  • Submit insurance claims through approved portals.
  • Follow up on pending, rejected, and denied claims.
  • Perform claim resubmissions and reconciliations.
  • Review explanation of benefits (EOB) and remittance advice.
  • Coordinate with doctors, reception, and billing teams to ensure complete documentation.
  • Resolve insurance-related queries from patients and insurance companies.
  • Maintain accurate patient insurance records.
  • Monitor claim status and prepare periodic reports.
  • Ensure compliance with DHA, DOH, MOHAP, and insurance company regulations.
  • Stay updated with insurance policies, coding, and billing requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in medical insurance coordination in the UAE.
  • Experience in a medical center, clinic, or hospital.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE insurance companies and their approval processes.
  • Experience with claim submission, resubmission, reconciliation, and rejection management.
  • Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT coding, and medical billing.
  • Proficiency in healthcare management systems and insurance portals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in a relevant field.
  • Experience with multiple insurance networks in the UAE.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations and medical coding standards.

Pay: AED1.00 - AED2.00 per month
