Position Title -Carpenter

Job Summary

The Carpenter is responsible for carrying out carpentry, repair, maintenance, and renovation works throughout the hotel premises, ensuring all wooden structures, furniture, fixtures, and fittings are maintained to the highest standards. The role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to complete maintenance tasks efficiently while minimizing disruption to hotel operations.

Immediate joiners are preferred.

Key ResponsibilitiesCarpentry & Maintenance Works

• Perform carpentry repairs and maintenance work for guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas, and hotel facilities.
• Repair, replace, and maintain wooden furniture, doors, frames, cabinets, wardrobes, shelves, and fixtures.
• Carry out preventive maintenance inspections for wooden structures and fittings.
• Perform minor renovation and modification works as required.
• Repair damaged furniture including chairs, tables, desks, beds, and other wooden items.
• Install and adjust doors, locks, hinges, handles, and other hardware fittings.
• Ensure proper alignment, finishing, and quality of all carpentry works.
• Assist with room renovation projects and refurbishment activities.

Hotel Maintenance Support

• Attend maintenance requests related to carpentry works promptly.
• Coordinate with the Engineering team to complete assigned tasks within the required timeline.
• Support other maintenance activities when required.
• Ensure all work areas are kept clean and safe after completion of tasks.
• Follow hotel standards and safety procedures while performing duties.

Tools & Equipment

• Safely operate carpentry tools and equipment.
• Maintain tools in good working condition.
• Report any damaged or unsafe equipment to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Ensure proper storage of tools and materials.

Safety & Compliance

• Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures.
• Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain awareness of fire safety and workplace safety standards.
• Report any hazards, damages, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications

• Technical certification or vocational training in Carpentry or a related field preferred.
• Minimum secondary education qualification.

Experience

• Minimum 2–5 years of experience as a Carpenter.
• Previous experience in a hotel, hospitality, residential, or commercial building environment is preferred.
• Experience with furniture repair, joinery, and general maintenance works.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent carpentry and woodworking skills.
• Knowledge of furniture repair and installation.
• Ability to read basic drawings and measurements.
• Knowledge of different types of wood, materials, and finishing techniques.
• Good attention to detail and workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and complete work within deadlines.
• Knowledge of workplace safety procedures.

• Available for immediate joining.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required.
• Hospitality experience will be an advantage.
