FEMALE Healthcare Assistant – Newborn Care Experience

Job Description

We are looking for a compassionate, responsible, and experienced Healthcare Assistant (HCA) with proven newborn care experience to provide safe and attentive care to newborns in a home healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and professional care to newborns at home.
• Assist with newborn feeding, including bottle feeding and supporting breastfeeding routines as instructed.
• Monitor and maintain the newborn’s daily feeding, sleeping, diapering, and general care routine.
• Assist with bathing, diaper changing, dressing, and maintaining proper newborn hygiene.
• Observe the newborn for any changes in behavior, feeding, sleep patterns, temperature, or general condition and promptly report concerns to the nurse or family.
• Assist with safe positioning, handling, and comfort of the newborn.
• Support the mother and family with routine newborn care as directed by the healthcare team.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment for the newborn.
• Follow infection-control, health and safety, and home-care protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any significant observations.
• Work closely with nurses, doctors, and family members to ensure continuity and quality of care.
• Respect the family’s privacy, confidentiality, and cultural preferences at all times.
• Perform other duties related to newborn care as assigned by the supervising nurse or management.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Homecare Healthcare Assistant/Caregiver, preferably in home healthcare.
• Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on newborn care experience is preferred.
• Experience caring for newborns from birth onward.
• Knowledge of newborn hygiene, feeding, safe handling, and basic newborn care.
• Ability to recognize and promptly report unusual signs or changes in the newborn’s condition.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive personality.
• Ability to work independently while following instructions from the supervising nurse.
• Relevant healthcare certification or qualification is preferred.
• CPR/BLS certification is an advantage.
• Previous experience working with families in a private/home setting is an advantage.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
