Job Description: General Practitioner (GP)Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated General Practitioner (GP) to join our medical team. As the first point of contact for patients, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, comprehensive primary healthcare. Your role involves diagnosing and treating acute and chronic illnesses, promoting preventative health practices, and managing overall patient well-being.

The ideal candidate possesses excellent clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and a patient-centric approach to healthcare.

Key Responsibilities1. Clinical Care & Diagnosis

  • Conduct physical examinations and take detailed patient medical histories.
  • Diagnose and treat common illnesses, injuries, and medical conditions.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (e.g., blood work, X-rays, ECGs).
  • Prescribe appropriate medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with medical laws and guidelines.
  • Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, and asthma, creating long-term management plans.

2. Patient Management & Referrals

  • Provide continuous and holistic care to patients of all age groups.
  • Refer patients to medical specialists or secondary care facilities when complex or specialized treatment is required.
  • Perform minor outpatient procedures (e.g., wound stitching, vaccinations, incisions, and drainage) as qualified.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care advice where applicable.

3. Preventative Health & Education

  • Educate patients on lifestyle modifications, nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention.
  • Administer immunizations and design preventative screening schedules (e.g., cancer screenings, health check-ups).
  • Provide counseling on mental health, family planning, and maternal/child health care.

4. Administration & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential Electronic Health Records (EHR) for all patients.
  • Adhere strictly to local healthcare regulations, medical ethics, and data privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA or local equivalents).
  • Collaborate with nursing, administrative, and allied health staff to optimize clinic workflows and patient satisfaction.
  • Participate in clinical audits and continuous medical education (CME) to stay updated on the latest medical advancements.

Job Requirements & QualificationsEducation & Licensure

  • Medical Degree: MD, MBBS, or DO from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure: Valid and active medical license to practice as a General Practitioner in the specific region/country (e.g., DHA/MOH/HAAD license in the UAE, GMC registration in the UK, etc.).
  • Certifications: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are highly preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of post-residency experience working as a General Practitioner in a clinic or hospital setting (adjustable based on seniority needed).
