Full job description

Atlanta Training Center is seeking an experienced, passionate, and creative Fashion Design & Tailoring Instructor to lead our comprehensive Professional Program in Fashion Design and Tailoring.

In this role, you will guide trainees ranging from complete beginners to aspiring entrepreneurs through. You will deliver hands-on instruction in industrial/commercial sewing machines, pattern drafting, garment construction, fashion illustration, and final collection development, preparing students to excel in Dubai's fashion industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver Hands-on Instruction: Lead practical sessions in garment assembly, pattern making (bodice, sleeve, and skirt blocks), fabric science, advanced closures, and tailoring techniques.
  • Guide Design & Concept Development: Instruct students in fashion illustration, croquis drawing, mood board creation, fabric sourcing, and portfolio assembly.
  • Assess Student Progress: Conduct continuous practical evaluations on garment construction, review final student portfolios, and assess capstone collection projects.
  • Classroom & Facility Oversight: Supervise students in a fully equipped workshop, ensuring safe and efficient operation of sewing machines, sergers, pressing stations, and cutting tools.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 7 to 10 years of professional experience in the fashion industry, with proven expertise in both creative design and technical tailoring.
  • Technical Mastery: Expertise in operating sewing machines and sergers, drafting custom blocks, pattern manipulation, garment construction, and technical flat illustration.
  • Portfolio & Track Record: A strong portfolio demonstrating past work, garment construction, and successful fashion collection design.
  • Teaching & Mentorship: Demonstrated teaching or training ability, with a passion for breaking down complex design and sewing concepts for beginners.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of fabric sourcing, costing, production processes, and regional/international fashion trends.
