We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Supervisor to oversee structural, piping, and welding fabrication activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Position Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Fabrication Supervisor to lead and supervise structural, piping, and welding fabrication activities across multiple projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning shop-floor activities, managing manpower and resources, monitoring productivity, and ensuring fabrication work complies with engineering drawings, quality standards, and QHSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute structural, piping, and welding fabrication activities based on project requirements and production schedules.
  • Allocate work to Foremen and Leadmen, ensuring effective supervision and timely completion of assigned tasks.
  • Coordinate with Planners and Production Engineers to obtain allocated man-hours and ensure fabrication activities achieve planned productivity targets.
  • Monitor fabrication progress and escalate productivity or resource constraints to Production Management for timely resolution.
  • Optimize manpower, materials, equipment, and workshop resources to maximize operational efficiency and meet project schedules.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Project teams to resolve design issues, technical queries, and fabrication challenges.
  • Prepare and maintain daily production progress reports for project review meetings.
  • Coordinate with supervisors from other disciplines to resolve interface issues and ensure smooth execution of fabrication activities.
  • Ensure all fabrication work complies with approved drawings, specifications, work instructions, welding procedures, and quality standards.
  • Safeguard company personnel, equipment, materials, and assets within the fabrication yard and project sites.
  • Participate in accident and incident investigations and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
  • Conduct toolbox talks, promote good housekeeping, and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with company QHSE requirements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance and productivity of Foremen and Leadmen, providing guidance and coaching to improve operational performance.
  • Recommend improvements to machinery, tools, equipment, and fabrication processes to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Perform additional responsibilities assigned by the Fabrication Superintendent or Management to support successful project delivery.

Qualifications & Experience

Education: Matric with ITI, Diploma, or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline preferred).

Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant supervisory experience in structural fabrication, piping fabrication, and welding within Oil & Gas, EPC, heavy fabrication, marine, or shipyard industries.

Technical Qualification: ITI, Diploma, or Engineering qualification with sound knowledge of fabrication processes, welding practices, engineering drawings, and production planning.

Skills: Strong leadership, manpower management, planning, coordination, communication, problem-solving, and team management skills.

Software: Proficient in MS Office.

Knowledge: Good understanding of structural steel fabrication, piping fabrication, welding procedures, fabrication sequencing, productivity monitoring, engineering drawings, quality requirements, and QHSE standards.
